We are back with a slightly different timetable, class times available: Tuesday 30th June 5.30-6.15pm 6.30-7.15pm 7.30-8.15pm Friday 3rd July 5.30-6.15pm 6.30-7.15pm 7.30-8.15pm Sunday 5th July 10.00-10.45am 11.00-11.45am Comment below or contact your Sensei to book in your place. 14.01.2022 Had a great session of basics with my 3 boys and myself with GKR online dojo tonight. If you haven’t signed up for it yet please do so it’s awesome and engaging. After we competed basics class. Followed by kicks and then a kick bag session. Then worked through all our Kata learned so far. Finished with some kick combos. To get heart rate pumping.And have a little bit of fun.

13.01.2022 My 3 Boys completed their first live class with the online GKR Dojo class. I asked them how it went? Straight afterwards. Hopefully if you haven’t joined you can see the response for yourself and get back into training! Thanks to all the Tuesday night Sensei’s for making it so engaging the boys loved it. Don’t forget that Friday night classes will run as per the time table hope to see you all then.

11.01.2022 **ATTENTION STUDENTS AND FAMILIES** Due to new Government restrictions, effective 11.59pm tonight (Wednesday 8th July 2020), we are unable to run classes in the dojo for the next 6 weeks. As always, our top priority is everyone’s safety both in an outside the dojo. With this in mind, ZOOM classes will recommence as of next Monday 13th July 2020 and will be available AT NO COST to all Region 5 students. The link for the ZOOM classes will be included in the email sent to you b...y the club and a timetable will be available shortly. We are looking forward to seeing you all in the ZOOM classes next week, continuing on with your training like the true champions you are! Sensei Brett, our Regional Manager and Zone Director, will be offering one-on-one ZOOM session to students over the next six weeks. This is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed. It's not every day that you get the opportunity to receive feedback and tips from GKR's highest ranked instructor in Victoria. More information regarding cost and availability will be published soon. Keep a look out and make sure you get in quick as the sessions will book out fast. To advance your training even further, Kata packs are available to purchase from the online dojo. We strongly encourage all students who have not already done so, to get onto the online dojo and purchase their grade level kata packs (and even the next few kata above) so that you can continue to work on and refine your kata ... maybe even learn a few new ones too. They’re a worthwhile investment and will help you progress on your karate journey. While we’re on the subject of progress and your karate journey, GKR will be implementing ZOOM gradings, starting late July. Your instructors will be nominating students to be assessed for their next grade level so it is really important that we see you in the ZOOM classes and you continue to work hard. It’s really important for everyone to keep on training in the current climate, it is good for the body, mind and soul. Everyone should have received an email and text today notifying you that all direct debit payments will be suspended as of tomorrow and will be reactivated once the 6 week lockdown has been lifted (an email will be sent out a week prior to reactivation). If you have not received your email, please contact your instructor and they will follow it up for you. Remember- the comeback is always stronger than the setback, we will get through this!

02.01.2022 I ran through a session in our home Dojo for the 3 boys today. Started with warmup then punch combos and block combo moving forwards and backwards 1+1. Combining punches forward with blocks backwards. Then ran through Kata up to grade level. Then moved into some high intensity mit and bag combinations. With coming forward and backwards to mix it up. Finishing with flat out for 20seconds flurry’s. We Did throw in a variation of the reaction training with kick bag with front ha...nd being 1 and rear hand being 2. All the time moving using foot work to maintain distance both sides. I’m finding the boys really enjoy the reaction training as it challenges them in new ways and keeps things interesting.The Online GKR Dojo is an excellent source of content and ideas to implement in your home dojo. Parents can easily take these ideas to help younger students to get engaged and keep training. See more
