25.01.2022 Nerang Saturday Morning: 14/11/20: happy Sunday everyone. We had a packed class yesterday where everyone was kept very busy.. after the warm up, the class were split into 2 groups. Sensei Mark took all the adults, all levels, where various drills and combitions were executed, even up to 10 moves per combination. Sensei Mark had said the lower belts did extremely well to keep up as he was concentrating on the 1st kyu and above that were going to black belt grading in a few we...eks. Sensei Jenny took all the kids, again all levels, as we were going to have a fun class. They partnered up doing basics then giving feed back to their partners... they also worked with the kick sheilds and had fun with paper breaks.. Congrats to all those that graded last Sunday and also to Daceo and Cadio for grading in class yesterday. We welcomed Walter and Eli to Nerang Saturday Morning and also to the Kaposi family to GKR as they had their first class. It was an awesome class everyone, keep up the great work... it may have been challenging to some but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.. until next week, stay safe. Sensei Lucy See more

20.01.2022 I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. GKR classes start back this week, however Nerang Dojo is still unavailable due to work being carried out. As soon as we have an update for reopening this dojo we will post it here for everyone. In the interim there are lots of fantastic instructors and classes for you to get some training in starting this week. Check out your timetables for locations and times. Regards Sensei Mark Mc

18.01.2022 Nerang Saturday Morning: 28/11/20: Good Morning everyone, we ran on overtime yesterday, alot to do with little time. The class was split with Sensei's Mark and Brent taking green belts and above. They started with correct applications in stances, continued with partner work in kumite and finished with drills using the kick sheilds. Sensei Jenny and I took the lower belts where we went thru parts of the grading format getting ready for the December grading. We then split into ...2 groups were we concentrated on kata. Sensei's Jenny and Brent continued with drills using the kick sheilds and some others wanted to stay with kata. Awards to Monique, Lachlan and Jasmine for their awesome work during class. Congratulations to Ayce and Archer for achieving their orange tips, 7th kyu Ho yesterday. Strength and best wishes to those attending the black belt grading today. They have already started. Until next week, stay safe. Sensei Lucy See more

06.01.2022 Nerang Saturday Morning: 21/11/20: Good Morning everyone, after our warm up, the class were split into various groups. The black belts, who mostly will be attempting their next level at the black belt grading next Sunday, practised their katas with Sensei Brent. The rest of the class had a kata, kumite and kicks class with Sensei Mark. Sensei Jenny took the lower belt kids and went thru some self defence moves with just blocking and shouting NO. They are to use their Karate i...n defending themselves and not in retaliation or to start a fight. This was reinforced by Sensei Mark at the end of the class to the whole group. He also went thru the correct technique of bowing.... We welcomed Gabriel, Darcy and Grace who their first class and to little August who has been coming to Nerang Saturday Morning since he was a new born and now is officially a member of GKR. A special award went to Sean for having an excellent class. Thank you Sensei Brent for helping out... Until next Saturday, stay safe. Sensei Lucy See more

01.01.2022 Nerang Saturday Morning:12/12/20: Happy Sunday everyone, as it was our last class for the year at Nerang, yes, as usual it was a very busy class. We started with using noodles and practised head blocks with also saying after the block STOP, I DON'T LIKE IT, I DONT WANT TO START ANYTHING. As it was the day before grading, we all went some of the grading formats. Sensei Mark took the green belts and above thru their various combinations and drills. After our drills Sensei Jenny... and I split our group where my group went thru kata and Sensei Jenny had fun with mitts.. we welcomed Leonard and Lizette who had their first class, we wished Isabelle a very Happy Birthday. I wanted to write this post after the grading today as I want to congratulate all who went to the grading today and achieved their next belt. Congrats to Tyson, Dylan, LJ, Jason, Graham, Debbie, Brian, Eli, Monique, Harrison and Gabriel. It was our last class because as of Monday the hall will not have a roof. Unfortunately the roof will not be completed until 17th January 2021. The first class at Nerang will be Tuesday 19th January 2021 at 6 pm. Last but not least, I want to say 'thank you' to Sensei's Mark and Jenny and those who helped us along the way. for everything. Thank you to our students, it has been an honour teaching you, it is amazing watching you all grow and develop in your Karate. Keep up the great work, it really shows. Until next next year, Merry Christmas to everyone, Stay safe. Sensei Lucy See more
