23.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone who graded yesterday in Prime Region 27 . From now on we will be running 2 sessions as before but the sessions will be split by Grade level vs age. Session 1 for white and yellow belts and session 2 for Orange belts and above. Prime is growing and is too large to combine grading groups. We now have a sizeable group of intermediate and senior Kyu grades to run 2 gradings according to grade level. For this month we only had 1 session as we have a few Orange belts and above that are fine tuning their skills to put on an impressive show for the 2nd session in our May grading. . #gkr #gkrkarate #gkrregion27

14.01.2022 Dear NSW and ACT students and instructors, Whilst the Coronavirus threat level in NSW is gradually declining and class timetables are back to normal, there are still a significant number of restrictions in place with regards to holding large indoor events like tournaments. Given that the State Titles invites students from all over NSW, we felt it inappropriate at this time to be promoting an event that encourages attendance from such a wide variety of places across the state.... With the well-being of our competitors and officials in mind, and given the many extra rules and personnel required to conduct such an event with the current Covid-safety regulations in place, we have decided not to hold the NSW State Titles this year. We apologise to those students who have been looking forward to this competition but we hope you appreciate the reasons behind our decision. Please note that there may be some regions in NSW who conduct their own localised competition days prior to Christmas so keep an eye out for any news of this via your branch instructor. Hopefully we will continue to see Covid conditions improve in the coming weeks/months and we look forward to hosting our next large combined event in NSW in the first few months of 2021. The two Friday night classes at Murray Farm Scout Hall at 6:30 and 7:45 pm start again this week and we will be easing back into it gently with some fun stretching and conditioning. We will have a number of fun exercises to refocus on our basics before we finish the first and second classes with games focussed around our basics and will likely include bag push which I know is a part...icular favourite. Don't forget your kick bags. We will finish with a good warm down and I look forward to seeing my students again. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to all Region 27/GKR Prime who participated in the two grading sessions we had yesterday. We had close to 40 students attempting various grades from Yellow belt up to 4th Kyu Red belt. In session 2 it was great to have sparring as a part of our gradings again. Special thanks to Sensei's Peter, Mitchel, Paul & Trevor who helped out. It was a very busy day for us. All students did exceptionally well and progressed to their next grade level.

10.01.2022 An update regarding FACE MASKS We are currently watching the evolving Covid-19 situation in Sydney very carefully. At this stage there has been no changes made to current settings or restrictions imposed on community sport.... Further to our update yesterday, it appears that masks must be worn in our venues before and after class, but not while participating in the class. Spectators will need to wear masks. Please ensure you are bringing your own mask and putting it on prior to entering the Dojo and only taking it off when the class starts if you are training. If you are a spectator your mask must remain on the whole duration you are in the Dojo. 07.01.2022 GRADING WEEKEND - We had an in class grading for the Puglisi family of 4 that had get off to a Soccer match so could not attend the grading sessions. - Plus one Student (Liam Scott) who graded to 7th Kyu.... - The 2 gradings were specifically for our 9thand 7th Kyu Ho's who joined before lockdown and were due to grade but lockdown put pay to that grading. Plus we included students who joined since training resumed and have been eagerly training in many classes to ensure they qualified to attend Prime's R27 first grading since classes resumed on 15th June. - Everyone did a great job and can be very proud of their performance. Next R27 grading will be on Saturday 15th August and will cover all grades. We are expecting a large turnout. We are back and back strong with great class attendance. - The best way to stay healthy is to exercise and keep fit and Karate training is undoubtedly one of the most exciting ways to do this. - Well Done - See you in the Dojo! 06.01.2022 Great news, Karate classes will resume effective Monday 15th June. See attached timetable. Our class format will comply with strict Covid 19 Social Distancing G...uidelines. Please check our Dojo Facebook pages from tomorrow 12/06 after midday, for the Online class booking link that you will need to use to pre-book your classes for each week whilst we are required to abide by the 9 students + 1 instructor class limit. Also, to compensate for these restrictions, we will not be activating your Debit Order until the class limit is lifted to 20+ which may occur from 1 July. In the meantime each student will be required to bring $10 cash only to each class. PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING THE EXACT AMOUNT TO AVOID UNNECESSARY CASH HANDLING. You must please also have your QR code handy for scanning. Parents will not be allowed into the Dojo & under Covid 19 restrictions must please wait in their cars. No gathering outside the Dojo is permitted. Any questions please give me a call. We are excited to see you in the Dojo next week.

05.01.2022 Well the time is now fast approaching for us to be returning to the Dojo and training initially abiding by strict Covid-19 precautions & safety guidelines. To ...celebrate our eminent return to the Dojo, Prime / Region 27 held a series of Zoom Social gatherings with the last one held on Saturday at 4:00pm and was a lot of fun. It was great to catch up with some of our students, parents & families. We simply 'shot the breeze' as we say in typical Australian fashion, and shared what we had all been up to, to keep ourselves busy during lockdown. Well folks not much more to say except to PLEASE check in on our dojo Facebook pages daily for updates regarding our eminent return to the Dojo next week either Monday 15th or Tuesday 16th. We are busy finalising Dojo locations for our phased return of classes which will begin either on Monday(15th) or Tuesday (16th. We are hoping to run 4 classes every weekday with at least 2 each on Saturday and Sunday. You will be emailed and texted the Time Table as soon as its finalised which should be very soon now....maybe even tomorrow. We will also publish the Timetable with regular updates as we are allowed to return to the School Halls. For now we will be at the Scout Hall & most likely Northmead CAPA from Monday. Due to class numbers being restricted to 10 people including the Sensei we will be providing a link via our Dojo FB pages for you to book your spot. Lastly, I can let you in on a secret that we have a few very exciting new ideas we will be implementing over time as restrictions are eased. Till then...Stay tuned. and keep safe.
