25.01.2022 Never assume or underestimate your opponent.

24.01.2022 KARATE ETIQUETTE Karate training would not be complete without the practice of etiquette, as it helps to establish the right way of doing things and develops di...scipline as well as respect, particularly in younger students. The very first thing we learn, even before we start our karate training, is how to bow when we enter the training hall (dojo). We do this as a sign of respect for the instructors and the learning environment in general. Lining up at the start of the class, especially for students doing their first class, can cause a lot of confusion. Here are some tips to help ease the confusion. Lines should be straight, yes, this is simple in theory and sometimes it’s hard to do. You should always line up in grade order, highest grade at the right end and beginners at the left end. Those with orange and yellow tips, are ranked higher than those without on the same coloured belt. For safety reasons, all jewellery is to be removed prior to training eg watches, rings, earrings, facial piercings, chains. Fingernails and toenails should be kept clean and well manicured. Out of respect for fellow students, a high level of personal hygiene should be adhered to by all members. Whilst these seem like little things, they all add up to a happy, respectful and safe place for us all to do what we love, karate. Enjoy your training Region 18.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to those that graded over the weekend. Keep up the good work and remain focused on the next phase of your journey.

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to train with one of our foremost Instructors this Sunday. 08.01.2022 Attention Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo Students. hopefully it wont be long now before we can get back together for some training so in anticipation that as like our first lock-down, schools will be very slow to let us back in I am currently looking for venues to lease so we can get back to our training as soon as permitted by the government. I am looking for buildings to fit out that have an open floor plan of at least 150m2 so if anyone has any contacts please let me know. [email protected] Regards Sensei Luke Carruthers

07.01.2022 At the beginning of martial arts training in Japan, a white belt is worn, and this has an indication that the owners of the belt still have little experience in... martial arts, then after years of training, effort and perseverance, the belt turns from the white color to dark black, which is evidence of its owner’s indulgence in the exercise. To the degree that his belt has changed color This means that the deeper your understanding of the philosophy of your martial art, the more capable you will be in applying the fighting techniques of this art. Not knowing your technology necessarily means you are crushed on wearing the black belt Black packages are not just a piece of cloth that raises the trousers from falling during the exercise, but it is a symbol of commitment, perseverance, entitlement, effort and race, so if you are looking for belts that are awarded in the form of a certificate and a suit, then you do not understand what martial arts are.
