20.01.2022 Last class of 2019 at Rowville Monday class. It was an awesome night with 1st class being the actual training class. 2nd class was games which showcased the students' agility skills on the ladder, showing speed and control in kumite, and showing defense and speed in dodgeball... We also get to meet our new Sempai, Sempai Sam... And at the end of our training class came the yearend awarding to our most deserving students in the class... 19.01.2022 WE ARE BACK!!!! Rowville Dojo is back open for martial arts goodness as of Friday June 26th.

19.01.2022 *ATTENTION STUDENTS AND FAMILIES* Due to new Government restrictions, effective 11.59pm Wednesday 8th July 2020, we are unable to run classes in the dojo for the next 6 weeks. As always, our top priority is everyone’s safety both in an outside the dojo. With this in mind, ZOOM classes will recommence as of next Monday 13th July 2020 and will be available AT NO COST to all Region 5 students. The link for the ZOOM classes will be included in the email sent to you by the club a...nd a timetable will be available shortly. We are looking forward to seeing you all in the ZOOM classes next week, continuing on with your training like the true champions you are! Sensei Brett, our Regional Manager and Zone Director, will be offering one-on-one ZOOM session to students over the next six weeks. This is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed. It's not every day that you get the opportunity to receive feedback and tips from GKR's highest ranked instructor in Victoria. More information regarding cost and availability will be published soon. Keep a look out and make sure you get in quick as the sessions will book out fast. To advance your training even further, Kata packs are available to purchase from the online dojo. We strongly encourage all students who have not already done so, to get onto the online dojo and purchase their grade level kata packs (and even the next few kata above) so that you can continue to work on and refine your kata ... maybe even learn a few new ones too. They’re a worthwhile investment and will help you progress on your karate journey. While we’re on the subject of progress and your karate journey, GKR will be implementing ZOOM gradings, starting late July. Your instructors will be nominating students to be assessed for their next grade level so it is really important that we see you in the ZOOM classes and you continue to work hard. It’s really important for everyone to keep on training in the current climate, it is good for the body, mind and soul. Everyone should have received an email and text today notifying you that all direct debit payments will be suspended as of tomorrow and will be reactivated once the 6 week lockdown has been lifted (an email will be sent out a week prior to reactivation). If you have not received your email, please contact your instructor and they will follow it up for you. Remember- the comeback is always stronger than the setback, we will get through this!

10.01.2022 Tonight was all about prepping for our up coming tournament in a couple of weeks. Lots of footwork drills, hand speed, reflex drills and plenty of partner work to fine tune our techniques. Well done everyone!! YOU will NEVER know your LIMITS unless you PUSH yourself to them!!!

02.01.2022 Life has thrown us a temporary curve ball, but that doesn't mean our health, fitness, self-defence skills or enjoyment of karate has to end. During this peculi...ar period, GKR Karate is bringing the dojo to you. Online classes for all grades and ages, covering all facets of training; and all classes are designed with limited space in mind. There is no reason why your skills and fitness can't continue to improve right now. It just requires a tiny bit of self-discipline on your part to get the ball rolling. And the beauty of self-discipline, is its only difficult for a few minutes, because after this, motivation to keep going kicks in.
