25.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Did you realise that GKR zoom classes are FREE for all members? This is the only way we can train right now but it is going off the scale. A lot of students are joining the zoom classes and all of your sensei are involved. We are even grading students online because of the current situation but you need to join the zoom classes to be eligible. Come train for free with the region’s most experienced instructors, including those from the Ballarat region. Members please contact this page for more information.

22.01.2022 Whatever you do, don’t miss this opportunity.

18.01.2022 KARATE ETIQUETTE Karate training would not be complete without the practice of etiquette, as it helps to establish the right way of doing things and develops di...scipline as well as respect, particularly in younger students. The very first thing we learn, even before we start our karate training, is how to bow when we enter the training hall (dojo). We do this as a sign of respect for the instructors and the learning environment in general. Lining up at the start of the class, especially for students doing their first class, can cause a lot of confusion. Here are some tips to help ease the confusion. Lines should be straight, yes, this is simple in theory and sometimes it’s hard to do. You should always line up in grade order, highest grade at the right end and beginners at the left end. Those with orange and yellow tips, are ranked higher than those without on the same coloured belt. For safety reasons, all jewellery is to be removed prior to training eg watches, rings, earrings, facial piercings, chains. Fingernails and toenails should be kept clean and well manicured. Out of respect for fellow students, a high level of personal hygiene should be adhered to by all members. Whilst these seem like little things, they all add up to a happy, respectful and safe place for us all to do what we love, karate. Enjoy your training Region 18.

15.01.2022 Hi Ballarat students. It is very exciting that things are starting to get back to normal with some classes in our Region able to commence. Unfortunately venues in Ballarat are not yet available to us but watch this space! As soon as we have better news we will let you know. Won’t it be great to be able to train in the dojo again? But thank you everyone who attended classes on line. This has been a great opportunity to train with other students and multiple senseis and Zoom classes will continue at the moment.

11.01.2022 Hi everyone. Once again we are forced to close classes. All direct debits will be closed from Wednesday 5th August until further notice. All members will receive an email advising this along with a link to free online live classes. There will be an online grading for eligible students soon as well, also 1 on 1 training will be coming. Stay well and stay focussed in these hard times everyone... kind regards - Sensei Damian...

06.01.2022 Just a reminder that there are still some GKR face masks available for purchase so, if would like to have one (or more), get your order in quickly. Also, we wou...ld love to see more of you joining in the zoom classes that are happening every Monday - Thursday at 6pm and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. A great way to keep your karate skills honed as well as a chance to catch up with your friends and Senseis as well as train with some other great people. Hope to see you there. S Marg See more

06.01.2022 Sad times. After tomorrow nights Brown Hill class it will be farewell from us for a while due to Covid restrictions unfortunately.
