21.01.2022 Good News !!!, Most of our classes have reopened and our dojo has been given to go ahead to start classes as per the Timetable attached. Dojo’s that are greyed out are yet to open. If we haven’t emailed you already then please contact our Head Office on 08 8368 0600 or email on [email protected] to reactivate your Direct Debit before training. 15.01.2022 Good morning Westbrook students. I wanted to take the time to let you guys know that my visit to the hospital last night resulted in great news. The neurosurgeon from the PA hospital has given my bleeding on the brain the all clear, and with rest, no exercising and relaxing the brain I will be right to start light exercises in about 2 to 3 weeks. Thank you for your concern and support troops. Here’s to a great recovery so I can get back to teaching you guys.... Much love and appreciation from Sensei Marc

02.01.2022 GKR’s Founder and Chief Instructor has been an avid student since he first set foot in a dojo in 1964. A highly dedicated student, he commenced Makiwara trainin...g soon after starting and continues to practice, daily, even today. Makiwara is a traditional practice used by Karate-ka since the Art’s inception. It involves conditioning the knuckles, while strengthening the wrists, arms (and even spirit) by striking into a wooden post. In this video, Kancho Robert Sullivan invites us into his backyard and takes us through his daily Makiwara practice; which is hitting a wooden board 700 times. He also shares ideas on how one can get started and work their way up.
