21.01.2022 Threads in a tartan web Available now on Paperback, E-Pub, Mobi, Dymocks, Barnes&Wood etc. A thought provoking tale set in 1867.... This is the story of Angus and Mary McKay and their family eking out a poor living on the peaceful Island of Arran. A scandalous affair followed by tragedy turns their simple way of life upside down. Angus, harbouring a deep dark secret, believes he has brought down a black curse on his village. They are transported by ship to Glasgow’s dangerous, overcrowded, filthy, slum area. You will be touched by the adversity of the working people at that time, and wonder at some of the courageous characters you meet, who make you smile in this tale of the human spirit. Ponder the struggles of our strong ancestors for a moment, and reflect on the things that later generations have forgotten. ********************************************* About the Author Gladys Barclay Bow (retired), lives on the Gold Coast of .Australia. 21.01.2022 Thank you to all the darling people and old friends who have become face book buddies. I have had a request to speak at a writers club in Banora Point in the New Year about how to write a book. I will post date and place when I know the details. My birthday is near another nail in the coffin I ll keep dying my hair ha ha.... Christmas season coming up, lots of moths flying around the shopping malls, must be the people letting them out, by opening and shutting their purses. Happy Holidays to all from Gladys Barclay Bow. 16.01.2022 Hello hello hello again, long time no see. The weather has finally cooled down and hopefully my brain will come alive again, I don't like the heat and it has been very warm this year. I have been feeling better this last two weeks since my tussle with the dreaded Virus. Feed back welcome, as you should have read my book by now. Comments welcome good or bad! Picture attached is me in my costume for a theatre show I appeared in. No it is not big bird :)... Anyway I'll close down for now, Have a great day to all with love from me

16.01.2022 Thank you all, I have been sick since December and hopefully I am on the mend! I hope you have read and enjoyed the story "Threads in a tartan web". I realize the story is tragic in places, but that's how things happened during that time. The strength of character of our ancestors is hard to believe sometimes. The love story within was profound. I am still waiting for contact from the interview with a magazine to be printed. The reviews so far have been very good 4-5 stars. I will get a move on with the second book in the series"Maid in a tangled web"

05.01.2022 ' To readers of Book #1 'Threads in a tartan web' I would love to hear if you enjoyed the story and any feedback by review on Amazon, or other sites would be greatly appreciated. So far I have had very good reports which is spurring me forward as I write my second follow up book, in the series of 3 Glasgow chronicles. #2 "The maid in a tangled web' Thanks for all the posts

04.01.2022 Some innermost thoughts When I was going through the worst time in my life, after the diagnoses of my beloved husbands illness. I watched and cared for him as he deteriorate for ten years, before he finally had a peaceful passing, surrounded by his adoring family.. I don't know if I thanked my family enough for their strength and love during that time, which helped sustain him, he was always smiling never complaining never showing his frustration. Friends were very good ...to us also. I started writing during those years to pass the hours away when I felt useless, and writing distracted me from my worry over him. I am happy and coping well again, laughter was and is always a large part of my life, so my advice to all is smile at someone every day and it will be returned. Thinking of Dickie today Glad signing off.

02.01.2022 This is a view of Arran Scotland, where the first part of the story (Threads in a tartan web) takes place.
