25.01.2022 At Gladesville Bridge Marina we are committed to protecting our local ecosystem and the natural habitat of the harbour. Part of this commitment is our accreditation with the Marine Industry Association’s ‘Fish Friendly’ Program. The Fish friendly Program is awarded to marinas in recognition of a regularly audited commitment to actively improving the marina's fish habitat. Responsibilities associated with the program include; identifying endangered species, making sure boats d...o not carry invasive species and educating others in the program's value. As one of the first Fish Friendly Marina's in Australia, Gladesville Bridge Marina is committed to protecting the local habitat and our great community, now and in the future. 25.01.2022 How’s this for bananas? Dating back to the 1700’s, the humble banana is said to have seriously bad consequences for voyages. But why is the banana rumoured to be bad news for boats? Some popular theories include a belief that the smell of banana is a repellent to fish, whilst others believe that because bananas produce ethylene gas they can cause other fruits to spoil more quickly. Far less likely is the theory that bananas are bad luck on board due to the risk of the crew... slipping on peels. No matter the real reason, we will be sure to keep bananas well away from the Marina!

23.01.2022 Nothing is more important to us than protecting our magnificent harbour and our local community. That is why we are very proud to be an ongoing accredited Marina in the International Clean Marinas Program, administered by the Marina Industries Association. The program is designed to protect inland and coastal waterways, and our Marina’s level 3 status acknowledges the achievement of regularly checked compliance with rigorous environmental management systems. This program ...is just part of our Marina’s pledge to continue our commitment to reduce pollution, enhance the environment and comply with the MIA Code of Ethics. 16.01.2022 Very excited for this one! Jessica Watson OAM, the 16-year-old Australian who a decade ago become the youngest person to sail solo around the world non-stop unassisted, will receive a new Netflix feature film about her ground-breaking expedition. This is an excellent story of a young Australian who put sailing on the map for a whole new generation. She has since achieved even more impressive feats, including leading a team that would be the youngest to ever compete in the f...amous Sydney to Hobart race. Can’t wait!
