25.01.2022 Welcome back for Term 2! We hope you all had a fantastic break over the holidays. It's been a busy start to the term, and we love all the learning and leadership that's happening in our classrooms already. We are excited to share our wonderful school with you next week at our Gladesville Open Night, April 28th 5-7pm. We welcome current and prospective families to come along and learn more about our inspiring learning community!

21.01.2022 Did you know that yesterday was International Day of Happiness? In 2012, the United Nations (UN) declared March 20 to be observed as the International Day of Happiness. The day recognizes that happiness is a fundamental human goal, and calls upon countries to approach public policies in ways that improve the well-being of all peoples.... By designating a special day for happiness, the UN aims to focus world attention on the idea that economic growth must be inclusive, equitable, and balanced, such that it promotes sustainable development, and alleviates poverty. Additionally the UN acknowledges that in order to attain global happiness, economic development must be accompanied by social and environmental well-being.

20.01.2022 Everyone is adjusting to our new ways of everyday life and doing their part. The staff at Gladesville are looking very stylish while keeping safe! Have a lovey end to the week

18.01.2022 Good morning everyone. What a glorious Melbourne morning it is too! We currently have 299 followers and 285 people have liked our page. We are hoping that you can help us achieve our Term 3 goal of having 400 followers and 400 people liking our page by the end of Term 3. ... There are so many fantastic things happening in our community that we want to share with as many people as we can during this lock down time and beyond. Photos of our learning and events always get positive feedback so let's spread the joy even further. Ask you friends and family to spread the word and follow /like Gladesville Primary School! If they wish, they can send us a message when they like or follow us. I wonder if we can get any celebrities and well know people to follow our page? I wonder if we can get some international followers? We will keep you posted with our increasing numbers each week. Thanks for your help in advance!

17.01.2022 Our students have been embracing Spring during art lessons. They have been creating paper flowers and floral drawing masterpieces. I think you will agree Spring has sprung at Gladesville

16.01.2022 Last Friday, our F-1 students were asked to create a piece of art with whatever was left in their take home art pack. Way to go team! Your creativity is delightful.

15.01.2022 Gladesville Primary School is preparing to send out letters confirming enrollment in our 2021 Foundation program. This is an exciting time for families as they start their journey into primary school life. 2021 Foundation students will also receive their Gladesville House polo shirts through the mail with their letter of confirmation so they can wear it to our Term 4 transition sessions. It is not too late for families to contact us about 2021 enrollments as we have places in grades across the school. If you are yet to finalise your child's enrollment for school in 2021, please visit our website and call or email the office to arrange a virtual tour or phone conversation.

13.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who helped us hit our first target of 300 likes! We are on our way to 400 by the end of this term!

10.01.2022 Friday is Visual Arts Day at Gladesville Primary. Today the Grade 2-6 students used watercolours to create a cicada artwork inspired by 'Searching For Cicadas' by Lesley Gibbs. The Grade F-1 students were inspired by all this talk about masks. They explored a different type of mask and created some disguises of their own.

08.01.2022 Two of our wonderful students have shared an amazing book with me this week. Windows, by Patrick Guest and Jonathan Bentley. Windows is an uplifting story of how humanity has pulled together during the Coronavirus pandemic.... Please take a moment on this wet and cold weekend to enjoy it with your family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yQv4_rhhU4

02.01.2022 Our students experimented with their watercolours that were sent home in their Learning From Home Pack earlier this term. Students were asked to experiment with their colours and brushes ready for a set task later this week. If this is experimenting, I can't wait to see how this weeks' task turns out!

01.01.2022 2022 Enrollments - Please get them in! It has been a pleasure to share our school with so many new families on tours over the past few weeks. The feedback has been very positive and we currently have a number of enrollment forms submitted for the 2022 Foundation class. If you have a child commencing school in 2022, please ensure that you are communicating with the office and that your enrollment form is submitted no later than June this year. I know it sounds like a long way ...off, but really it is only three months away!!! Should you have any questions, or need an enrollment form, please chat with Mandy in the office.
