The championships will be held from the 17-19th August 2018 at the Riverina Equestrian Centre, Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga. Also thank you to Adam and Andrew Dickson and Berragoon Obama ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations to all players who competed at the Moss Vale Carnival on the weekend - you were all wonderfully presented (both horses and riders) and you displayed excellent team work and sportsmanship - thank you. As usual, thank you to all of the supporters, people who provided coaching, time keepers, horse walkers and so forth. We have a great support network in our Club. Thanks also to the Clarke family who again this weekend generously loaned horses to keep our players well mounted and teams competitive. It was terrific to have Katie Griffin and Gordon back out on the field this weekend - we hope you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you to Ken for doubling up on Sunday after Sheldon was unfortunately injured on Saturday afternoon. We wish you a speedy recovery Sheldon and hope to see you back on the field very soon. And a shout out to Jacob Wiscombe who discovered a hidden talent with the microphone and announced all weekend and kept us entertained. We have you booked in for our carnival next year.... Juniors/Subbies - Unfortunately there were not enough Juniors entered to run a Junior competition. As such, Skye Gilpin went in to the C Open and Charlotte, Maggie and Cameron played in the Subbies comp. Here they rotated sections and positions across the weekend and had a good time. Cam was seen happily throwing goals, while Maggie gave more stick in centre field than was seen at the World Cup. Charlotte had a great time on Coco practising her skills and game play. Well done to all three and in particular, to Cameron Clarke for winning Best Sub Junior. (photo attached) C Open - Our section of Kristen, Katie and Wayne teamed up with Skye Gilpin and two other players to complete their side. They had some terrific games over the weekend and it was great to see their confidence and skills improve over the weekend. A Open - Ben Bennett from MV joined our A Open side for the weekend. The team played in a pretty tough competition against Sydney and Wollondilly. After two wins and two losses, they came away Runners Up in the A Open Competition! Congratulations to Zoe Fuller for Winning Best Junior Player. (Photos attached) Berragoon Obama Gladiator Jackpot Team - Thanks to the very kind sponsorship from Adam and Andrew Dickson, this team was entered in to the Gladiator competition which was capped at 25 points. The 5 teams in the comp ranged from 23.5 to 25 points so all games were extremely close. Congratulations to this team who went through the weekend undefeated to win the competition and $800 prize money! Furthermore, congratulations to Anthony Yeo and Moonshine for winning Best Horse and Rider combination in the Gladiator competition! (Photos attached).
