25.01.2022 Lowmead 3 Car 2016

23.01.2022 Good afternoon Members of the GLADSTONE and District 4WD Club. Happy new year to you all! On a more serious note we have been asked to support search efforts for a missing man. At this stage a meeting point is the Futter Campground I. The Boyne Valley. I am currently liaising with the Police to determine where we are to support in these efforts. As soon as I have further updates I will communicate this via FBook. My contact number is 0418766657 John.

20.01.2022 Just over 3 weeks to go. Any teams ready to race? I bet there’s more still doing race prep then there is that are good to go... Just to give everyone a bi...t of an idea on the format for the weekend i thought I’d do a quick run down. This year we have decided to pair the Saturday winch stages so competitors, spectators & marshals will all be in the same place together in the morning then move to the next two stages together after lunch. Fri night: 1 x Drive stage under lights on the Man Made course with all 3 cars on stage at once. Sat Morning: 1 x Morning drive stage, teams will leave the start gate at intervals. 2 x Winch stages with a bit of high speed also, these two stages will be very close to each other so plenty of action for spectators to see. Sat Afternoon: 2 x Winch stages that will be more challenging, these stages will also be beside each other but in amongst the trees and shade, still lot for spectators to see from a couple vantage points. Sat Night: 2 x Stages on the man made course, these will mainly be under lights and right in front of the spectators but Navi’s will want to pack their head lamps incase competitors head out in the dark for a little bit.... Sunday: 1 x Winch stage close to the competitor camp which will be spectator friendly. 1 x GPS stage which won’t have a great deal to see for spectators. # Stage locations will be subject to change if we get any adverse weather conditions.

19.01.2022 1964: un MINI para empezar un fin de semana genial !!

18.01.2022 # Take Note # # Serious Post # Lowmead is all about having fun BUT we also need everyone to play by the rules and take safety seriously. ...First of all for spectators a reminder that this is a No Glass, No Dogs, No Bikes, No Hooning event. This isn’t just to keep you safe but to keep other spectators, our competitors & officials safe also. Under no circumstances are spectators to go free roaming around the property next weekend there’s 50 other weekends of the year you can go there and do that! There will be a lot of bunting up throughout the property used for guidance and competitor safety that we don’t want pulled down or changed. Another thing is year after year we find someone has been out somewhere sneaky doing doughnuts ripping up Clarkies grass..... Fires: If you wish to have one at camp are to be contained in a fire drum, they should also not be left unattended, this ain’t just for fire risk but we also don’t want someone’s child to get accidental burns. Dogs: Dogs are not welcome no matter the size, breed or age. So place book them into dog kennels on the way to the event if you can’t find a minder. This is once again to keep them safe and also others safe too. Snakes, cattle, 51 comp trucks and lots of vehicle movement throughout the weekend are just some of the reasons they aren’t welcome. Glass: NO GLASS stubbies etc. If you have a bottle of spirits at camp please just take what you need to the stages in a plastic bottle or something along those lines. Once again dealing with medical treatment cases thanks to someone leaving glass about is not something we want to deal about. : Motorbikes/ Quads for spectators. Absolute recipe for disaster so NO. : Riding in the backs of Ute trays or hanging off the sliders.... Don’t do it! Sorry for the serious post but it needs to be said, this will give you time to drum it into your not so smart mates heads. We aren’t the fun police but we definitely are the Di#head police!

18.01.2022 That's some extreme driving!

18.01.2022 Big Bertha to the rescue near Rainbow Beach yesterday. 4wd came to a stop in the Lagoon Crossing, and then the incoming tide gave it the washing machine treatment.

06.01.2022 What a weekend! I’d just like to thank EVERYONE that made 2019 an awesome year at Lowmead. Committee members, our volunteer groups, volunteer marshals, comp...etitors, spectators, sponsors, food vendors and of course Clarkie the absolute legend you all make Lowmead what it is. So much goes into this event behind the scenes in the lead up and during the event that most folks wouldn’t even realise so a huge pat on the back to those who put in the hard yards. I really hope everyone liked the racing at this years event, it’s tricky to get a mix of stages that covers both competitor & spectator enjoyment but I’m hoping no one left disappointed I tried to sprinkle in a little bit of everything. Walking around and seeing or being told that someone enjoyed the weekend is what makes the minimal sleep, bugger all food intake and even less showering worth while. Thanks everyone for making 2019 an epic year and I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk to everyone to say goodbye and didn’t make it up to presentations but as it was I only finished packing up my stage stuff as the sun went down yesterday afternoon. There will be some committee changes etc after this year but that’s stuff to discuss down the track. For now I’d love to see photo’s and videos, some incab footage from teams would be really cool too. Cheers Mosko.
