In conjunction with Buckwalter Motorsports and Tims Shock Labs Michael Tancredi has invested heavily in the future of the category in this country and believes there is plenty to be excited about. We’ll be a one-stop shop for the Storm package, says Michael proudly, we’re leaning heavily on almost twenty years of Storm Chassis experience in the USA and we can’t wait to introduce their latest technology into Australia. It’s an exciting time for Quarter Midgets in Australia. Tancredi is a firm believer in the category. His two children race and he’s keen to see more kids get involved and the appeal of the class broaden for drivers and new venues. I think it’s a cost-effective class for families in terms of longevity of your equipment. The cars aren’t something you need to upgrade or replace every season. You can adapt the same car as your kids grow up, there’s no need to constantly buy the latest spec car every year. I think you be quite clever with your car and your budget and make it a financially viable weekend racing program with your kids. Tancredi is excited about working with an ultra-successful identity in American oval track racing like Tim Buckwalter. The Buckwalter family are iconic, says Michael, they’ve been in the game for over six decades between Tim and his Dad. The experience and the expertise they bring to their products is second to none. I’ve been dealing with them for some time now and I can’t speak highly enough. Tancredi Motorsports have already begun the process of ordering and importing cars, spares and shocks for the coming season. Obviously we don’t know when we’ll get to race in 2020 and realistically it might not be until the new year in Victoria but when it’s time we’ll be ready. We’re keen to talk to as many interested families and teams about riding the storm. I honestly believe that Quarter Midgets offer kids an excellent platform to learn and they are a great stepping stone into senior competition in other forms of Speedway when that time comes. 07.01.2022 2021/2022 SSA NATIONAL TITLE DATES & VENUES FINALISED Speedway Sedans Australia wishes to advise that the dates and venues for four of the five SSA National Tit...les have been finalised for the 2021/2022 season. All four venues were scheduled to host these particular National Titles during the 2020/2021 season but with the ongoing uncertainty over COVID-19 restrictions, the events will now be staged during the 2021/2022 summer. Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway located in Latrobe Tasmania will be the home of the SSA National Super Sedan Title in late January 2022 and will complete a huge month of racing on the Apple Isle for the class. The SSA National Street Stock Title will return to the Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway in Western Australia in early March, with the venue last hosting the event back in 2005. It was at that event that history was made with the Oldfield brothers filling all three positions on the podium. SSA Street Stocks are a large part of the rich tradition of Sedan Racing for the Bunbury Car Club with a big field expected to converge on the South West venue on the Labour Day Long weekend in early March. The Heartland Raceway located close to Moama on the Murray River will host the SSA National Modified Sedan Title for the first time with the venue having hosted a very successful SSA National Super Sedan Title back in 2019. The IBRP Kingaroy Speedway which has fast become the home of the biggest events seen in Australia for Speedway Sedan racing will host the SSA National Production Sedan Title over the Easter Weekend in 2022. The Showgrounds venue will lend itself to a great atmosphere with SSA Production Sedans continuing to grow in popularity in the Sunshine State. Unfortunately over the past weekend the National Capital Motorsports Club who operate the ACT Speedway have decided to forgo the opportunity to host the 2021/2022 SSA National Junior Sedan Title. With the 2022/2023 SSA National Junior Sedan Title having already been allocated to the Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier South Australia, expressions of interest have now commenced for venues who wish to host the 2021/2022 SSA National Junior Sedan Title, Interested venues in hosting next season's SSA National Junior Sedan Title are encouraged to contact the Speedway Sedans Australia office at [email protected] as soon as possible to obtain a submission form. Submissions from venues in every state & territory in the country will be considered.
