17.01.2022 Lachie Blackmore is doing us proud for U15s in Bathurst ! The QLD gold team have had 1 win and 2 losses. They have 1 game to go against WA tomorrow morning at 8 am. Rest day today and the boys have been to laser tag, and done numerous laps around Mt Panorama. Lachie is enjoying himself but not the cold weather.

11.01.2022 GHA community: We are aware that everyone is super keen to get back on the turf to train and/or play. We thank you all for your patience and understanding during these last few weeks. During this time we were able to ensure the safety of our members, and for this we are grateful ... We are pleased to advise that training can commence as of Monday, and clubs are able to resume training on the turf once again. Please adhere to our usual COVID-safe practices, enact social distancing where possible and wear masks** Representative teams, your coaches will be in contact regarding training allocations during the week, specifically for the upcoming Zones Carnival in Rockhampton. Thank you all for your ongoing support of the sport we all love Please read below for policy on masks: **Masks must be worn as per below up to and including 15th April: YOU MUST CARRY A FACE MASK WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES WHEN YOU LEAVE HOME, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LAWFUL REASON NOT TO. - You MUST wear a mask in indoor spaces. - It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5 m distance from other people, such as busy walkways and thoroughfares. - Masks do not need to be worn in some circumstances, including children under 12 years or if you have certain medical conditions. - Masks are not required when you are in outdoor spaces and able to stay 1.5m from others. - MATCHES/TRAININGS - Players and umpires are not required to wear masks during matches/training as this is classed as physical exertion. However as per Government Requirement: "Professional and non-professional sports players MUST WEAR A MASK WHILE THEY ARE 'ON THE BENCH' waiting to play. They may remove their mask if they are puffing or out of breath." - DUGOUTS Coaches, Managers and any team members MUST wear a mask when in their team's dugout.

09.01.2022 So this happened today. Huge congratulations to Karen Graham who was awarded a Gladstone Hockey Life Membership. Thank you Karen for your many years of contributions to Gladstone Hockey and being a valued member to our Association. It was an honour to present this Life Membership to you. Was great to hear some stories from the past.

01.01.2022 In loving memory of GHA Life Member - Shane Brodie Our sincere condolences to Julie Anne Brodie, Stephen, Jess and Craig, Mason and Sarah and families for the loss of GHA Life Member Shane Brodie. Shane was passionate about his hockey and his love of the game found him donating a huge part of his life to game. It is with a heavy heart we farewell Shane at a service being held at Boyne Tannum Memorial Parklands Crematorium Chapel Pioneer Dr Boyne Island on Wednesday 5th May ...at 10 am.
