24.01.2022 NSNTA COMPETITION UPDATE Following the announcement by the State Government of a five day Stage 4 lockdown until 11.59pm on Wednesday, 17 February, Tuesday nigh...t Ladies and Wednesday night Mixed matches have been cancelled for this week. The Match and Permit Committee will be meeting Tuesday night to review the latest State Government restrictions and health advice. We will update clubs as to whether Thursday night’s Men’s matches can proceed as soon as possible following that meeting. For the Ladies and Mixed competitions, Round 3 match results do not need to be submitted. Teams will automatically be allocated 2 points. We thank all clubs and players for their understanding as we work through this situation.

21.01.2022 We promised you that we would give you some exciting news about upcoming works at the Club. We are pleased to announce that we will be upgrading the lights on courts 1-3 in the coming months to a state of the art LED system. Hopefully they will be completed in time for when the night competition returns. We also have some other major upgrades in the planning that would not have been possible without the support from Cr Karen Sherry. We appreciate everything that you do for the community. We will post updates as the works progress. Note: photo was taken prior to mandatory mask wearing.

20.01.2022 Due to today's announcement of the 5-day lockdown, Gladstone Park Tennis Club will close for the duration of the lockdown.

18.01.2022 SPRING 2020 SEASON CANCELLED The State Government has extended Stage 4 restrictions for Melbourne until 28 September 2020, and released a road map for arrangeme...nts after that date. Under that road map it is likely that a 9.00 pm curfew and restrictions on community sport competition will remain in place until at least 26 October 2020. After that date, it is likely there will still be restrictions on public gatherings until late November. The NSNTA Management Committee has formed the view there won’t be enough available weeks to hold a meaningful competition this year. We therefore regret to advise that we have decided to cancel the Spring 2020 season. We hope to be in a position to start a new season in February 2021. We will advise clubs of team entry closing dates in coming weeks, so clubs can commence their planning. We hope everyone is staying safe and hope to see everyone back on the court early next year!

17.01.2022 Just to give an update regarding the reopening of the courts. We have to get council approval before we reopen. An update will be posted as soon as we receive approval.

16.01.2022 As you know in the past few weeks, COVID-19 has become a major health crisis in Australia and this is now affecting Gladstone Park Tennis Club (Club). To outline what has happened, all competitions that the Club is participating in, have now suspended their competitions until further notice. There is no indication when these competitions will resume. Please refer to related association websites and their statements about how the season will continue to proceed. The Club... is disappointed that it has come to this, however, the health and well-being of our members and visitors have to take priority. In terms of ball money and other costs associated with playing competition, the Club is currently looking at options regarding the best way to go about either refunding or potentially reducing the cost of ball money next season. The Club will also have to work with the related associations, to determine what their processes will be in relation to registrations fees paid by the club on behalf of its member to the associations. It is only then, that the Club will be in a position to make a decision. The Club has also decided that all Club organised social events will be called off until further notice. Tennis Victoria has advised that the continuation of tennis coaching lessons is at the discretion of the Coaching provider. Gabriel will be in contact regarding the future of coaching and the Club will continue to rely on direction from Tennis Victoria. Regarding the use of courts, members are still able to use the courts, however, we do ask that members are sensible and take responsibility when it comes to their hygiene and care. If you're not feeling well, we urge you not to come to the Club. The Club understands that many of you will be frustrated by these events and decisions. However, this is an unprecedented time that the Club and the competitions that the Club is associated with have never faced in their entire history. We will keep you informed if there are any updates from the associations regarding the current season and any decision that is made regarding these events.

16.01.2022 SUSPENSION OF NSNTA COMPETITIONS After consultation with clubs, the NSNTA Management Committee has decided to suspend immediately all competition matches until ...further notice. This decision has been made to proactively ensure the health and well-being of all players. We appreciate the understanding of all clubs and players during this unprecedented situation, which is changing regularly as more information becomes available and containment measures are implemented. We will update clubs when it is deemed safe and viable for the competition to resume.

16.01.2022 Gladstone Park Tennis Club wishers all members and visitors a Happy New Year.

14.01.2022 Due to the Stage 4 restrictions announced by the Victorian Government, we have to close our courts for the foreseeable future. We hope to open the courts as soon as possible.

12.01.2022 In good news we have now been given permission to open our courts. Courts 1-3 are closed and hand sanitiser has been the placed around the club. As a condition of entry, you must also sign in and out using the provided covid registry. Happy hitting and enjoy and new facilities.

11.01.2022 Premier Daniel Andrews today announced that areas across Hume City Council will return to stage three lockdown restrictions from 11:59pm tomorrow night. The r...estrictions will apply until at least Wednesday, 29 July. These areas include Broadmeadows, Jacana, Dallas, Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Mickleham, Donnybrook, Kalkallo and Fawkner. If you live in these locations, there will only be four reasons to be out: shopping for food and supplies, care and caregiving, exercise, and study or work if you can’t do it from home. The changes will affect a number of Council services in those areas. An update will be provided tomorrow. For the latest information on COVID-19, go to vic.gov.au/coronavirus or call the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398.

08.01.2022 NSNTA UPDATE - 8 July 2020 The State Government has imposed Stage 3 restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne from 8 July 2020 for six weeks. Given this developme...nt, all arrangements for the Spring 2020 competition have been put on hold. We will make a decision about whether the season can proceed in a modified format once the Government provides further information about when and how these restrictions will be lifted. We hope everyone stays safe and thank you all for your understanding during this unprecedented and evolving situation.

07.01.2022 NSNTA UPDATE - 28 JULY 2020 The NSNTA Management Committee met recently to discuss options for the Spring 2020 season. It is clearly still too early to make any... decisions, as we don’t know when restrictions might be eased or when community sport will be permitted. The season may need to be cancelled if restrictions remain in place for several months. However, if the outlook improves, the Committee is considering the possibility of a shortened season starting in the last week of September or first week of October. Potential formats include two rounds of a six team draw (ten week season) or one round of an eight team draw (seven week season). We will provide further updates once we have more information about when restrictions will be eased. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this difficult time.

06.01.2022 AUTUMN 2021 UPDATE We were thrilled to receive a total of 494 teams - 127 Ladies, 123 Mixed and 244 Mens teams - for the Autumn 2021 season. We are currently ch...ecking all the teams and adding player statistics in preparation for grading. We will grade all the teams just after Christmas and hope to have the fixtures released by the first week of January. We hope everyone is having a hit in preparation for the season to start the first week of February!

06.01.2022 Gladstone Park Tennis Club wishes its Members and Visitors a Merry Christmas.

05.01.2022 We can finally share the news that we have been teasing you with the past couple of months. Courts 1-3 have been ripped up with a new surface coming soon. Together with our professional standard LED lighting system, these courts will be the envy of the competition. We will keep you posted once the works are completed.

05.01.2022 CANCELLATION OF AUTUMN 2020 SEASON AND SPRING 2020 DETAILS The NSNTA Management Committee has met to consider the results of the survey of clubs we conducted on... return to competition options. A summary of those results is on the NSNTA website. They show that 74 per cent of clubs, a clear majority, would prefer to cancel the Autumn 2020 season now and start planning for a new Spring season to start in August. There is still no clear advice from the State Government about when a return to competition tennis will be possible. However, given restrictions are gradually being eased, we are hopeful they will be eased enough to allow competition tennis by August. The Committee has therefore decided to cancel the Autumn 2020 season and start planning for the Spring season. The provisional start dates for Spring 2020 are: Ladies - Tuesday, 4 August 2020 Mixed - Wednesday, 12 August 2020 Men’s - Thursday, 6 August 2020

04.01.2022 Whilst we have all been in isolation, the President and Committee have been very busy behind the scenes making your Club even better. When you get back to the Club, you will notice some big changes, with even more to come. Here is a sneak peak.

02.01.2022 Here is an update of some of the works that have been completed recently. When we reopen, you will be able to have a BBQ and enjoy the shade. This could not have been achieved without the assistance of Cr Karen Sherry. We also have some other major works in development.....watch this space!

01.01.2022 Due to an incident this morning courts 1-3 will be temporarily closed as the front fence has been damaged in a car accident. Gladstone Park Tennis Club aims to have the fence fixed ASAP.
