05.01.2022 Let me tell you what we do! Speech Pathologists are trained health professionals who diagnose and help people who have difficulty communicating. This includes speaking, listening, understanding, writing, reading, social skills, stuttering and using their voice. Someone might have these difficulties because of developmental delays, learning disability, anxiety, hearing loss, stroke or brain injuries. People might also see a speech pathologist because they have difficulty swallowing food and drink. #themoreyouknow #speechpathology #gsp

02.01.2022 SCREEN TIME The use of smart devices is becoming evermore popular amongst the general population. So how might this be affecting our littlies and their early speech and language development? Researchers in Canada found that children who use handheld devices are more likely to have delays in their speech than those who don't. The Department of Health Australia reports that watching a screen at a young age can reduce opportunities for language development and lead to poor socia...l skills. How much is too much? It is recommended that children under the age of 2 years should not spend any time watching TV or using other electronic devices. Children aged 2-5 years should be limited to 1 hour a day of good, educational programming. You should watch along and talk to them about it. Further questions? Message our page or call us and we'll be happy to help!
