18.01.2022 The Gladstone Touch Football scene is alight with talent after the commencement of the First Annual ‘Super Series’. The Men’s series had all nominated players enter into a draft, whereby elected team captains picked teams via a draft process. This process ensured an equal mix of talent, youth and experience across all teams, making for an extremely fun and competitive Super Series overall. A master class of touch football was put on display during the opening round of fixtur...es with the Carolina Panthers dominating the first 2 games. As one of the younger sides M.Long, J.Neucom and E.List stood up to the plate to deliver convincing wins over the Greenbay Packers and Oakland Raiders. However the Panthers were no match for the underrated Miami Dolphins Side. Brotherly Touch prodigies B and M.Hansen led the dolphins to a come from behind win over the performing Panthers to complete the round as the undefeated side. The Stanhope Special was on display for the Packers as T and J Stanhope took the park. The boys were able to string together some extraordinary touchdowns across the first round. While the Oakland raiders have put on a clinic with veteran M.Baker taking young L.Black under his wing to prove that the raiders really mean business. The touch football standard since the commencement of the super series has been taken to a new level. The atmosphere at Gladstone Touch Fields comes alive with the sound of the first whistle each Friday night. The first fixture of Round 2 Taps off at 6:15 tonight. 01.01.2022 Bundy Cup. Due to the recent success of the under 20 men, there has been a lot of interest in players attending the Bundy cup in the open men premier division on February 6&7. Depending on numbers and interest from ladies, we may need to look at a good mixed team as well. To do this we will need another coach.... In the meantime, can you please message Dennis Black if interested in playing. We will also hold a short 10 minute players meeting next Friday at the super series final and I will confirm the time. Nominations for teams close 16th December. Please note each team needs to supply a non playing / coaching referee. Thanks
