03.01.2022 Yesterday the Australian Labor Party (ALP) announced that, if elected to government, they will reform the current Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system, committing an... additional $4 billion to the ECEC sector. The ALP will do this by: - increasing the CCS rate from 85 per cent to 100 per cent up to the hourly fee cap for families earning up to $69,000 who meet the activity test requirements - increasing the CCS rate to between 100 per cent and 85 per cent up to the hourly fee cap for families earning between $69,000 and $100,000 will receive a subsidy rate and for families earning between $100,000 and $174,000 will receive a subsidy rate between 85 per cent and 60 per cent up to the fee cap. The ALP has also committed reviewing the ACCS system for vulnerable children, which was one of FDCAs key election policy commitment requests of all the major parties.
