16.01.2022 Hello everyone For your information, below is an excerpt from an email received today from our National Councillor, Margaret Elliott. President, Margaret, has asked that you note our birthday celebrations for 17th June have been cancelled. No doubt, we will have a very big party when this crisis has passed.... Dear Presidents of Area QB Your Club will receive today an email from the VIEW National President, Ann-Louise O’Connor announcing the cancellation of VIEW meetings and events due to the Coronavirus virus in the following announcement - In recognition of the composition of our VIEW membership and the nature and type of activity members engage in, to help reduce your risk of exposure, we are recommending that VIEW Clubs cancel their March, April, May and June meetings and any other VIEW events, outings, activities, birthday events, etc at this stage. Sadly this also impacts on the Birthday celebrations planned for Fraser Coast 2nd April, Hervey Bay 11th May (25th), Caboolture 21st May, Bribie Island 27th May, Glasshouse Country 17th June, Gympie 19th June (25th). Hopefully we can still go ahead with the Area Gala planned for 4th August at Maroochy Surf Club when we can celebrate all these events. Please advise your members accordingly. Warm wishes to you all and I trust we all keep safe and well. In VIEW friendship Margaret Elliott National Councillor

14.01.2022 Our President Jill Mitchell gave a very interesting talk today at our lunch meeting on her own life experiences. Thank you Jill.

11.01.2022 Hello everyone Our committee met informally yesterday and decided that the time is right for us all to get together socially. For the foreseeable future, and in accordance with VIEW National Office guidelines, we will not be having lunch meetings as we knew them. Next Wednesday, 15th July, you are invited to join your fellow members for morning tea at 10am at Glasshouse District Park, off Page Street, Glass House Mountains. It is important that we follow a few rules - these... may seem daunting but we will get used to them. 1. You are required to bring your own chair, hot water, mug and teaspoon. Please bring a very small plate of goodies to share. The club will supply tea, coffee, sugar and milk. 2. This next one is a bit different: to avoid excessive money handling, please bring correct change. Our treasurer/s are not permitted to handle cash. To help you with this, we will be having a fruit tray raffle @ $1 per ticket, our lucky number draw @ $2 per ticket and the LFL tin will be there if you wish to donate towards our LFL students. You will be asked to deposit your money directly into the relevant cash box. If you have been busy baking, making jams, sewing etc please bring these along for a modified trade table. Even though we are not having formal meetings we still need to raise funds for our students. 3. You will be required to read the 'Member Statement of Responsibility' and sign to say you have done so. A record of attendance is then kept to enable health authorities to contact you if any one of us does happen to come in contact with a Covid-19 infected person. 4. If you are unwell, please stay home. Sanitiser will be available. We do need to know if you can come (and we hope you can) so please rsvp to either myself or Margaret by Tuesday evening: Glenda (5438 7851) [email protected] Margaret (5435 2172) [email protected] Please don't be deterred by these rules and regulations because really we just need to use common sense and be aware of how infectious this virus is. So looking forward to seeing you all - and it will be glorious weather. However, if it does rain, our get-together will be cancelled. Commitee
