25.01.2022 Pete taking a moment in the gallery

25.01.2022 Every now and then a student makes a paperweight so sublime that it is hard to give it back to them ... this student made two!

24.01.2022 A bit bleak this morning...bleakly beautiful

23.01.2022 From Tassies other hot glass studio!! Well done Keith. Many breaths taken for completion.

23.01.2022 Peter Bowles and Anne Clifton

23.01.2022 Peter and I are in an exhibition in Cleaver Street West Perth just one building next to our old studio space! Stala Gallery is at 12 Cleaver Street and is showing 'Glass Half Full' from the 28th of November until the 18th of December. https://www.facebook.com//upcoming-exhib/812571196188029/

22.01.2022 Come if you have to...and visit us while you are here.

21.01.2022 The shortest day ends at the studio

21.01.2022 Only thing missing is the eye protection

20.01.2022 From the archives! A while ago we were making a perfume bottle an halfway through, I gave up. The glass was appalling, so full of snot and striae. So Pete said..."dont put it in the bin, give it to me!" So I did and he made his shape. Today we are making them intentionally for a bit of fun.

18.01.2022 This is one of my favourite bottles (face it Anne they are all your faves) but in particular, she is very reminiscent of the early ones with the white flowers. I thought I could never get them again. These white flowers came about when I used a new white glass and it reduced (turned sluggy grey) in the glory hole. I had to cover the slugness with a very tricky enamel white, which blooms and can turn yellow if not carefully managed. She turned out rather sweetly. ... She is a big one too, 18 flameworked flowers and a good six-seven kilos. So bless Pete who was swinging on the heavy end while I faffed about with sticks and flame.

17.01.2022 Viewed from beneath! Getting ready for All the Blooms on Saturday.

17.01.2022 The Evil Brownie is well travelled! A congratulations from our wonderful assistant Katherine. Made by Steph of Manu. Layers of cake, lemon curd and mousse and I'm sorry I sampled it because I'm not sure I can stop

16.01.2022 In the paper today! Frontpage and all. Fear not we are still here

15.01.2022 Unlike these flowers that seem to open when they feel like it - we are open by appointment!

14.01.2022 A lovely turquoise bottle in Sydney! Despite looking very tiny in the photo she is one of the larger perfumes (7ish kilos) we made last December when we were good and strong. Its funny, we have to work up our muscles for big work without sproinging/spraining bits. Its a dance!

13.01.2022 A cheeky collaboration by Pete and Anne who, for these works only, tell each other what to do.

12.01.2022 Peters work off to Italy

12.01.2022 Pete rebuilding some equipment. Unexpected delays in getting it installed meant that most of our equipment succumbed to a rusty death in the sea container. Strangely grateful for this weird iso that means we get to do this necessary work.

12.01.2022 New work <3 (which is from an old idea!)

11.01.2022 Did you know we moved to Kings Wharf? You have to drive through the scary grassed levy to get here...or walk along the river from Peppers Silo. Wednesday to Sunday 10-5. Something special happening this Sunday.

09.01.2022 Very early murine... possibly made in 2001. It is very humbling to see. (Anne here) I was so proud of it even though it was nothing like what the Italians did.

08.01.2022 Anne is setting up to make wildflower murine this week for a special project.

07.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day

06.01.2022 Nope nothing to see here...nothing to do.

05.01.2022 The folks at Gunyulgup Galleries in Yallingup just have the eye for how works sit together.

04.01.2022 I had a mad moment yesterday and invited some folk to come and make a bead...and now it's a thing! Come and join me (Anne) at Kings Wharf, Invermay on Sunday from 10-4 and make your own bead No booking necessary but shhh it's a low key event

04.01.2022 "There was movement at the studio, for word had passed around..."

03.01.2022 Sorting the archives! This is Petes dragon stem goblet made to compliment his Indulgence exhibition. 1998

03.01.2022 Youd think from looking at our Facebook that these are all we make! . . . .... Well Ill let you in on a little secret...all the other work is in development and a certain maker wants them to be perfect before I show you images of the process. See more
