19.01.2022 Hoping everyone had a wonderful (and hopefully wet) Christmas and Boxing Day! I know we certainly did while we were trying to put this Santa hat on Bessie, Elliot and Gazelle. Needless to say, none of them really enjoyed it but posed for the photo anyway

19.01.2022 How cute! These are the very first Gundare Lane kids of the season and I can’t express how excited I am that the kidding season has already started! The mother of these two is doing a great job as a very young mum. Two healthy boys, Brutus and Maximus No doubt will have many more to come with over 40 does in kid! I will also be putting up some photos and videos over the next couple of days of 6 beautiful 12 month old bucks that I have for sale, so watch this space!

18.01.2022 Gundare Lane Boer Goat Stud is very excited to welcome, Armadown Kimba thanks to Thomas Youlden from Valley Boers for giving us this opportunity to purchase this excellent sire! Not only will this be another sire to add to our lineup, but will also be our VERY FIRST Red Boer Sire. This means we are thrilled to announce that we will not only be continuing to produce our beloved Standard Boers, but now also venturing into Red Boers as well! We hope you are just as eager as we are to see what kids he produces in the not so near future. As seen in the third photo, he could smell the girls from the horse float as soon as we got him home

10.01.2022 Well didn’t 2019 go quickly ?!? Hoping that everyone has had a fabulous New Year’s Day so far! It has defiantly been a scorcher here, that’s for sure. But that certainly didn’t stop the freshly weaned kids this morning, as they went on their daily walks from one bush to another Which you can see in the video that was taken this morning when they were just let out! As a way with coping with the very dry conditions here at the moment and trying to achieve the best growth poss...ible, we have been letting out our weaned kids (both does and bucks) and allowing them to walk free range around the surrounding paddocks (goats just love going under fences don’t they ) and basically watching them run from one bush to another! We also do this to benefit the little bucks in order to prepare them for the routine they will need to learn once they are finished being weaned. As once they reached this weaned stage, the bucks are then seperated from the weaned does and let out with Gundare Lane’s current sires to freely roam the entire property from dawn till dusk. Not only does this allow them to eat what ever they want, but, they also learn to adjust to conditions and their free-range lifestyle. As well as, of course, growing fairly quickly! See more

08.01.2022 Kidding season finally started on the 5th of August for Gundare Lane and it hasn’t stopped since! With 51 does to kid and our very first red Boer kids expected, it has been exciting times! Wandering Free were lucky enough to arrive just in time to witness the very first kids of the season! Which happened to be twins, a boy and a girl Although we haven’t be able to post much due to the influx of kids over the last couple of weeks, we have certainly plenty of photos to post so stay tuned

08.01.2022 It’s a dry time for a lot of people in South West Queensland at the moment! Then with 70 kids to feed while waiting for their mums to come home everyday, the demand for their daily browse has increased significantly! After a lot of trial and error, we have found the best way to increase and kickstart the kids instinct to find food for themselves, especially in dry conditions, is to cut them browse everyday. Although time consuming, it not only helps the kids to develop rapidl...y without buying pellets, it also helps the environment as we travel around looking to cut overpopulated mistletoe from trees that are dying as a result of the mistletoe growth. Needless to say, the kids love it! They even like to eat the branches after they’ve munched off the leaves! Not only does it keep them full and content, it also defiantly quietens the nursery for a few hours as they munch away See more

These boys all have quality bloodlines, 5 sired by Yarrabee 948 (YRBFL5948) and the other buck is one of the very few bucks sired by Valley Boers Dothraki, TJYFM0032, who sadly passed away early this year.
