25.01.2022 Another amazing Toastmasters meeting was held last night via Zoom with 9 members and 1 guest in attendance. To kick start the meeting we had our inductions, toast and mission read by Barbara H and Nicholas as chairperson. This followed a round of impromptu speeches called ‘SoapBox’ where 3 speaker had to think on their feet and quickly respond to the topic ‘What they were passionate about?’ Well done Faraz, Damien and Lyndsey. David J did a 15 minute educational talk on marke...ting strategies targeting different audiences’. The ToastMaster for the evening was Faraz and Desiree did a very good talk on her passion for Leadership. Thank you all who spoke and with a job well done! 20.01.2022 Another successful and engaging Toastmasters meeting was held last night online with 11 participants in attendance. Chairperson for the night was assigned to Alex W that included the mission read by David J and Toast by Damien H. Lyndsey kick started an interesting topical group discussion of what is referred to as ‘Round Robin’ which involved each participant speaking for up to 1 minute and that produced an interesting story line articulated through the clubs virtual settin...g. Rhys T talked about the determination of new executive roles that will be going to vote in our next club meeting on May 18 2020.Our 'Toastmaster' for the night was assigned to Bobby followed by the Prepared Speeches presented by Damien H ‘Have you ever been delayed by public transport!’ that was evaluated by Susan J., David J spoke about his ‘High performance program ‘ that was evaluated by Rhys T and Desiree C spoke about coming ‘From the Black Forest to Sydney’ which also was evaluated by Alex W. Thank you all who spoke last night with a job well done. The night concluded with Um & Rs presented by Barbara H, Who said that? by Lyndsey NJ followed by Craig V. and Rhys T. with the general observations and evaluators report. Thank you to all club participants who spoke it seems we all had fun given the new climate and an agile shift to moving our club meetings online which are equally engaging and enjoyable for all. Our next meeting will continue to be held online on 18 May 2020 at 7:30pm. 11.01.2022 We had another excellent, online meeting last night! It was a smaller meeting but again a very entertaining and educational one. Highlights included:... * One visitor, Karla who wants to join our club * Introduction: What is your favourite app? * Call My Bluff was hosted by Rhys. Desiree, Craig and Nick participated and the audience had to try to tell if they were telling ’truths’ or ‘lies' * Sharon inducted our latest member (our first whilst online) into our club * Members chose which educational presentations (via a poll) that they would like to see delivered and it was encouraging to see so many members volunteering to do them * We heard two great speeches from Craig and Alex Our next meeting is on Monday, 4 May 2020, 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. 11.01.2022 We had an excellent meeting last Monday! Rhys gave an excellent speech on how the club can help its members work through the Pathways Educational system. Faraz delivered a very informative speech titled, 'Superpower' relating it to overcoming the fear of Public Speaking.... We also had a very thought-provoking and entertaining Table-Topics (Impromptu speaking) section. For something a little different, we did 'Catch-Phrase.' This is a take-off of the TV show of the same name and was a lot of fun. Our next meeting, 5 October 2020 will be our last on Zoom. On 19 October 2020, we will be back face-to-face, however not at our normal venue. We will be temporarily based at Camden Lakeside, 50 Raby Rd, Gledswood Hills from 19 October 2020. 08.01.2022 WOW! What a contest! Last night we had our International and Evaluation Contest. We saw Susan Johnson take first place for Both the International and the Evaluation Contest. This means she will be representing us at Area 22 Contest. Congratulations Susan. Last night we saw all contestants and members push themselves and learn something from the Toastmasters meeting. ... We also had a chance to hand out previous trophies - Finally! A great night. Our next meeting is 16th of November at Camden Lakeside. For more details DM us. A reminder, we are covid safe, you are scanned on entry, and your details are taken. Highlights included: - Introductions that revealed people's No.1 interest or hobby... - A themed Table-Topic session by Susan on 'The End of Financial Year' - A Round Robin initiated by Alex that inspired members to go on a magical journey - Eddie, who visited our club for the first time.
