24.01.2022 Next church service is July 12th @11am. All welcome.

23.01.2022 Thank you all for your patience and understanding in these difficult times. We are happy to announce that the Glen Alice Hall will be available for the community again from the 13th July! All the rules and regulations regarding physical distancing and hygiene will apply. Please contact us for your next booking.!

20.01.2022 Glen Alice community hall, grounds and amenities will be open from 1st November. A Covid-19 safe plan will be in place. Thank you for your understanding during the last few months.

18.01.2022 Dear Landholders and visitors to our valley, Please take your rubbish to the tips; Glen Davis and Capertee. We pay our rates with garbage disposal which means we are to take our rubbish to the tips so the council can service our rubbish en mass. I am aware the Glen Davis tip has been a disgrace over the years but it is getting worse over the past 12 months; this comes from laziness in the first place by not putting the rubbish in the hole! Yep, lived it here for nearly two de...cades; but we need to deal with the tip and do our best with our own mess. To all Full time and Part time residents: please DO NOT unload your stench for others to pick up at either overflowing council bins in the Capertee Park OR at the Glen Alice Community Hall in unserviced bins AND in the donation crate. :/ !! Two full time residents were seen dumping their domestic rubbish at the Capertee Park on Monday afternoon, leaving it on the ground around the bins. LAZY. Go to the tip! The numbers of bins at the Capertee Park are being reviewed by counsellor Steven Ring due to the amount of rubbish left there. Steve Ring phoned Eurella today (counsellor) to advise me that they are reviewing the costs of a recycling station at Glen Davis however the retrieval costs ongoing may be prohibitive. I suggested a central place like Capertee Tip may be a better location. Please write to the counsellors with your views. They act in our best interest. Some of you may have a better solution to this ongoing issue. Steve also informed me that any campers in the National Parks are meant to take their rubbish home with them. They may possibly be contributing to the overload. That said, the issue will worsen when the lockdown pressure is eased when regional travel is encouraged for the pending holidays. We will see a pandemic of rubbish in our valley if we do not become vigilant. Educate your visitors. Go to the tips please and leave the Capertee Park bins for the travellers on the highway. Do not dump at Glen Alice Community Hall. Bins and toilets are not available for public use. Proposed signs in the valley to address the rubbish removal requirements was a suggestion of Steven Ring so if you feel this is a good start, please voice your opinion by emailing him. See more

15.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for the enquires regarding the hire of the Glen Alice Hall. We have decided due to these uncertain times to once again close the hall and the grounds. Stay safe everyone.

14.01.2022 The facilities at the Glen Alice Community Hall are privately owned by the Association. Rubbish bins are not serviced by council. Toilets also are serviced by local residents and they will remain closed permanently to passers by.... When we are able to hold events, rubbish bins and the toilets will be available. All bins and the donation crate will be removed as people are leaving their rubbish in our bins when they leave the valley - residents (we hope) would not drop their rubbish here as they understand our community. PLEASE - offenders - take your rubbish with you as you depart our valley. Thank you

14.01.2022 CANCELLED Next Church service will be August 9th @ 11am. All welcome.

13.01.2022 Life is returning to some style of normality with travelling within the State now happening and holidays coming soon. Our area will see a huge influx in visitors over the next couple of months which will be fabulous, however their rubbish will come with them. I have written to a counsellor today regarding the overfilled bins at Glen Alice and Capertee and the mess at the tips; like so many have commented on social media. May I suggest more emails or letters to counsellors would be pertinent with the potential visitations, to get some more bins and a refuse recycling station set up urgently.

12.01.2022 We are in the middle of the valley and being on the Tourist Drive No 2 wouldn’t you think the council would consider placing serviced bins in our park and service the community toilets as offered months ago? Unhappy travellers today say the toilets at Capertee are ‘disgusting’ - fully blocked - they drive to Glen Alice - closed - redirected now Glen Davis Council facilities but really not good enough LCC

11.01.2022 Rubbish police here Whoops! We just spotted full time residents dumping their rubbish on the ground around overflowing bins at Capertee Park - two blocks from the tip Is the Capertee tip closed now perhaps?... Were the offenders perhaps full time residents that dumped at our hall? Surely not! Please take your rubbish to the tip on your trips to town

09.01.2022 Deputy Mayor Clr Steven Ring is being proactive on the rubbish issue at the Capertee Park and Tip. He also confirmed there are funds allocated for sealing the road from Glen Davis through to Glen Alice! Clr Maree Statham confirmed yesterday that the stretch between the bridge and Glen Alice will definitely be sealed in the next round of works.

09.01.2022 Thank goodness Covid restrictions are easing and we can welcome visitors to our valley! Our facilities at the Glen Alice Community Hall will remain closed to protect spread of Covid 19 from potential sufferers. Bins not on offer and toilets remain closed. We apologise for this inconvenience. Have a happy time with friends and family.

08.01.2022 Check out Welcome Back to Lithgow facebook page; promoting travellers to visit the region yet still there are not enough suitable rubbish bins or toilets along Tourist Drive no 2; We expect a huge influx of travellers over the holidays. The campers at the National Parks are asked to take their rubbish with them; we suspect the large rubbish bags which land at our park may be from these visitors or it is campers on private properties dropping off their rubbish on their way hom...e to their districts; leaving it for the local community folk to deal with instead. Signs do not deter these people. Nor does the lack of bins!!! I understand there are is a second video on its way promoting the Wolgan and Capertee Valleys; our Tourist Drive will be meeting more of these travellers these pending holidays. Clr Steven Ring do you know of the plans for Glen Alice Community Park? The GACA happily welcome visitors IF council service our facilities or we have no choice but to lock the park completely to stop this behaviour. Currently the park is experiencing rubbish being left by travellers without bins; toilets are locked yet still visited in spite of large signs. This is a huge hygiene issue and the unsightly behaviour is from the general public. I have written twice to council for their participation in servicing this part of the valley yet no response to date. With the planned 'valley focused' tourism videos rumoured to hit WBL page, this matter is indeed urgent and needs addressing by council. Promoting more travellers is not good for our valley; well, not without restrooms for them to use and a place to put their rubbish. This IS a council issue now more than ever with the council driven tourist page; please please get some bins here. We can service the toilets if council pays for labour and maintenance to assist. GACA is happy to assist to make the travellers welcome and control the hygiene to protect our community. If we are forced to lock out the park to everyone, this indeed injures our local community in the process. This is a result we do not wish to see. See more

01.01.2022 Had to share this joy. :)
