25.01.2022 Hi Folks, I am sad to announce that our current season has been declared officially closed. I have been informed that all individual Club gatherings, whether training or playing, wind-ups etc are to be postponed So, the windup has been cancelled for now, and the handing out of trophies and awards may happen at coaches & team discretion. Our AGM will more than likely be held at the start of next season and for those awaiting district nominations, the MGCC will advise a decision on junior district trials shortly. Thanks for a great season. I trust all children/players enjoyed themselves and has some success on and off the field.

12.01.2022 A quick message to let you know the Glen Forrest Junior Cricket Club is now participating the Kidsport Program. This initiative by the local government is aimed at providing financial assistance to families where a child may not otherwise play a sport through financial hardship. Please consider this and more importantly let your friends know, as it could a be a great way for our young kids to keep playing sport, particularly this great game of cricket. Some details about... Kidsport can be found here: https://www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au//sport-and-recreation/kidsport And a link to apply for it: https://kidsport.dlgsc.wa.gov.au//apply-for-kidsport-2019/ I am not across how it works entirely, so that they pay the club your fees, as when you register I think you will be required to pay fees. Maybe you just get reimbursed but I will endeavor to find out for us. See more

11.01.2022 Howdy, does anyone know whos bbq this is? Its in the Changerooms at Burkinshaw oval. And we have been asked to remove it.

11.01.2022 I would like to wish everyone all the best for the season ahead, as most of you are starting this weekend. Shall we conquer our personal goals, using those challenging days for the better and not forgetting to have a lot of fun and as importantly build on our friendships. The teamwork, the individual efforts & pressures, the highs & lows & sportsmanship that this game teaches is greater than any other game known. There are so many facets to the game, all of which teach our kids important lessons that they can take into the rest of their lives. Bravery in defeat & to be gracious in victory, support your teammates no matter what. This game can bring out all of the virtues that we want in our kids, I am sure you would agree it can help shape them into future healthy decision makers. Enjoy your season ahead!

11.01.2022 A special thanks goes to the WACA and Cricket Australia for a grant we recently received (ACIF Round 2 2019-20 grant) for $1,800 which has gone towards replacing the astro-turf on the GF primary school pitch). Along with our own club the Glen Forrest Primary School P&C as well as the school itself have all contributed towards the costs so this could happen. The kids are going to love playing cricket on this. Thanks Slater & Gartrell Sports for installing it. #cricketaustralia #cricketgrants #grassrootscricket #newcricketpitch #ThanksWACA #girlscricket #ACIF #slatergartrell #slatergartrelsportsaling

09.01.2022 Welcome back to the second half of the season. Just a quick note to wish every player the successes they strive for as we play our next few games. On a positive note: Our great club recently received a grant from the Grassroots Cricket Fund and we have put he money towards buying some extra sun shades for game days as well provided 6 new helmets for our teams kit bags. These are the new type so that we can start to swap out the older types so to comply with the new helmet standard. Good luck to you and your teams for the remainder of the season, and thanks to #Grassrootscricket

07.01.2022 Firstly, I trust this email finds you and your families well. Just a quick email with some details for the AGM next month. The AGM, we be held down at the Bowling club on Tuesday 1st Sept at 7pm for a free beer and pizza to those in attendance. We need a quorum of 10 so please make an effort to come along (it will be less than 30 minutes of actual meeting). Most positions are filled however we are looking for a secretary and possibly a few minor support roles. It is intended ...that 1 person from each team is on the committee, and we are desperately looking for families of the younger teams as this will be the last season for a few as it is our kids last season of junior cricket. Oh, and Registrations are now open and we encourage you to register when possible so we can better plan for the season. Similar to last season, all registrations are done online and can be found at https://www.playcricket.com.au/club-finder/club-details

06.01.2022 The Club wishes all the players and their families/carers an enjoyable, challenging and successful cricket season ahead, as most of you are starting this weekend. Shall we conquer our personal goals, using those challenging days for the better and not forgetting to have a lot of fun and as importantly build on our friendships. I am proud to say we are again running the Junior & Master Blaster programs, so please spread the work amongst friends and family, to come along and t...ry it and hopefully sign up for the programs. Successful clubs rely on this young group to form a solid group of players who will play through their junior years. Please bring a friend along. (They are being run on a Friday afternoon) We also have teams in the U10’s, U11’s, U12’s, U14, U17 (in the boys competition) and we have a Girls U13’s side. For a small club (in comparison to other clubs), we have a very healthy numbers of players and a fantastic group of parents and families. As a president I am super proud of our clubs reputation within the cricketing community. For your kids: The teamwork, the individual efforts & pressures, the highs & lows & sportsmanship that this game teaches is greater than any other game known. So lets all get involved and support these little cricketers In closing I wish to acknowledge and THANK the Mundaring Shire who kindly supported our club by way of a covid grant as well as Cricket Australia/WACA who also provided money from another grant we were successful with.
