22.01.2022 I was chatting to an OT mate of mine today about how tricky it is to explain what an OT does in very simple terms to anyone, let alone a child. Thanks to OT Adele Louise for creating this image that explains the different roles of people they may see.

21.01.2022 BELATED $15,000 CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR GLEN INNES PRESCHOOL Christmas arrived a bit later this year for Glen Innes Preschool, with a delivery of a $15,...000 present from the State Government last week to upgrade its outdoor learning environment. As a result of students making it into Santa’s good books last year, the preschool is receiving an exciting new play area. Over the past two years, Glen Innes Preschool has undergone both an internal and external transformation, with thousands of dollars being spent to modernise the preschool. One change saw the facility’s old, stationary play equipment relocated to the Deepwater Outreach preschool, leaving space for new equipment. This Quality Learning Environment (QLE) grant will fill that area, installing a natural play space with plenty of hands on elements and shade for sun protection. Including structures for climbing and promoting balance, the equipment will help encourage children to engage in open-ended play. Based on its current enrolment, 110 children, between the ages of 3 and 5, will have the opportunity to play on and enjoy the new equipment. Congratulations to Director Robyn Cartwright and her team for the work they have already done improving the functionality of the facility, so that the families of Glen Innes can have the best possible early education experience.

16.01.2022 Being read to as a child is one of my fondest memories. I remember sitting up in bed and snuggling in under mums arm, fascinated by all the characters in the... Faraway Tree and then sitting under the covers with the torch to read the next bit that couldn’t wait until tomorrow. The learning is a byproduct of the love and connection. Thanks mum. See more

16.01.2022 Wide brimmed hats are essential from this Monday as the UV levels increase. Beanies under wide brimmed hats are perfectly acceptable. If you haven’t had time to apply sunscreen before dropping your child off please let us know so that it can be done before the children go out to play. Thank you.

13.01.2022 The pre-school staff are looking forward to seeing returning students and welcoming new ones over the next week. As directed by the Department of Education we will continue with the Covid-19 safe practices. Parents are asked to space out along the fence (near the ribbons) , and to check in using the QR code. Photos can be taken at the front gate. Once entering the grounds children’s temperatures will be taken as the parent/carer signs them in. Their teacher will be there to greet them and to take them inside. There was a lot of positive feedback from parents last year with the success of the farewelling outside. The children definitely settled in more quickly.

02.01.2022 A beautiful day for our Purple Day Family Picnic. The Friday children welcomed their families into the pre- school playground for a picnic. The children took turns of taking their loved ones inside to show them their classrooms. Now that restrictions are easing we hope to do more of this. Every child had one or two parents with them and they were so proud. Thank you to the parents for attending.
