25.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon Missy was frantic. She was running backwards and forwards and braying nonstop with a voice that I had not heard before. I went out to see what was wrong and she was pawing at her gate, trying to break out of the Jenny Craig paddock. I turned my gaze to where Missy was looking and saw that the cows and the calf had escaped. They were heading down the lane at quite a pace, towards the road with the calf leading the way. Missy was beside herself. She knew t...hat all was not well and I took it that she was trying to warn me. The less charitable amongst us (Sam) later mused that Missy actually just wanted to join them in their escapade. I jumped into the ute and headed them off before they got to the road. They realised that the jig was up and sauntered back to their paddock. As a reward for her vigilance I have let Missy into our outside-yard where there is a round bale of hay for her to pick at. 07.01.2022 Poor Missy. After a couple of weeks of gluttony Missy is back in the Jenny Craig Paddock and has resorted to eating some thistles. I think this cut down in consumption thing has depressed her, even though she has only been dieting for less than two hours. Does she look depressed to you?
