23.01.2022 Our round 8 B Grade team presented by Cargills Sports Store! The B graders are the only side playing this week so hopefully they can make it a perfect week for us Great to see Adsy Honeysett in for his first game of the season! We won’t be surprised if we see a big partnership with him and his old man Clint ... If you’re not playing, try to get down there and support the team Go well boys! #UpTheAlvie

20.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all of our players and supporters at Glen Alvie! 20.01.2022 MAJOR AWARD WINNERS! Here are our major award winners from the 2020/21 season! After a dominant season, Andrew Brown came home with the Rex Thorn Medal! In C Grade this year Browny made 462 runs at a whopping average of 92.6! He also bowled when called upon and thoroughly deserved the club’s highest honour! ... The John Nugent Memorial, Most Promising Under 18 player went to young gun Matt Dakin! Matty had a dominant year in the Under 16’s taking out the batting, fielding and cricketer of the year. He also had a superb year in B Grade picking up 15 wickets and batting beautifully in some pressure situations! Matty was a pretty easy choice as our most promising Under 18 and the best thing, is that he’s only 15! And the A Grade cricketer of the year went to our captain/coach, Jamie Glen! Jim averaged 31.63 with the bat - winning the batting average, and also performed with the ball in some crucial moments. He finished with 323 points, pipping Jy Hull by 22 points! Congratulations guys! Stay tuned for more news from our presentation night soon #UpTheAlvie

15.01.2022 Glen Alvie and District Cricket Club would like to thank Connells Bakery for their continued support. Please see Brad and the team at either their Wonthaggi 5672 1050 or Bass 5678 2133 locations for all their fresh delicious foods and coffee.

11.01.2022 MORE AWARD WINNERS! Here are some more award winners from our presentation night! Taking out the A Grade bowling average and aggregate this year was Jy Hull with 15 wickets at an average of 18.07! Jy took a big step this year with his bowling and showed that he can certainly mix it with the best! Look out for this young star to take plenty of wickets for the Alvie in years to come ... B Grade cricketer of the year went to Lachie McRae with 267 points! Lach, who also took out the B Grade bowling average, had an absolutely incredible year with the ball taking 20 wickets at an average of 10.45! He’s been a more than solid contributor in the B Grade side for many years and let’s hope he continues his awesome form into next season! And taking out our B Grade batting average once again is the super consistent Steve Smith! Smitty has certainly held our batting together for the last couple of years in B Grade and we definitely would’ve struggled without him. Smitty made 197 runs at an average of 28.14 in 2020/21 and if we can give him some consistent help in B Grade next year we’ll certainly be a force to be reckoned with! #UpTheAlvie

10.01.2022 Our Round 8 wrap up presented by TNT Explosive Printz! It was just B Grade this week and unfortunately the boys only came away with six points! A win was very much in play after a fantastic bowling performance from Lachie McRae and Beau Hull! But we fell just short and ended up with a tie. Well done to Adsy Honeysett on a classy knock in his first game of the season! ... #UpTheAlvie

10.01.2022 Good luck to Matt Dakin and Max Connell in the LDCA U15 Rep side, have fun guys

Now that we’re edging closer to finals, some tough selection decisions are having to be made, but both sides are very well equipped to get the desired outcome this weekend! ...
