06.01.2022 William (Bill), Peard. We lost a valuable member of our Society with the passing of Bill Peard on December 3, 2019 at Katoomba Hospital. Bill was a tireless worker for our society and was dedicated to the production of our newsletter. We offer our deepest sympathy to his family. As stated in the notice a Memorial Service will be held on January 18, 2020 at St Andrews Uniting Church, Glenbrook at 12-30 pm.

04.01.2022 Glenbrook RAAF Air Crash Disaster Memorial Upgrade. The memorial is located in Clifton Ave Glenbrook for the 28-1-1941 Avro-Anson crash when the port wing failed on a medical emergency flight from Parkes to Mascot killing the five people on board. The plane crashed at the site of the memorial.... The original memorial installed in the 1990's was small and easily missed so the Glenbrook & District Historical Society Inc approached the Blue Mountains Council to upgrade the memorial they agreed to complete the project. The Glenbrook & District Historical Society Inc wishes to thank our Mayor Mark Greenhill and staff in the Open Space & Recreation Department, Dominic Smith and Stuart Fuller for their quick and efficient work on this project. it should be noted that the Society also arranged for a duplicate plaque to be installed at the Glenbrook War Memorial which was dedicated on ANZAC Day 2019.
