23.01.2022 Meet Sarah Parker she's our Vic Director, Immediate Past President and Acting Treasurer of AWiA. Sarah is a self-proclaimed city-girl-turned-dairy-farmer who ...had not milked a cow or lived on a farm until she moved from suburban Brisbane to rural Victoria. Agriculture has rewarded Sarah in many ways. She has studied International Dairy Management in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, spoken at the UN in New York and visited World Dairy Expo several times! Sarah is pretty proud that she and her husband Raymond own and operate an Illawarra Stud with pedigrees that go back over 100 years. The semen of one of their bulls is being exported overseas, and they have interest in embryos from UK, USA, NZ and Canada. Ensuring that Rural, Regional and Remote (RRR) women's voices are heard, and they have a seat at the decision table is why Sarah contributes to the many rural organisations she is involved with. She hopes her contribution helps provide more significant opportunities to learn and excel for the women who follow. [Sarah and Raymond can trace the pedigree of the calf in this photo back over 100 years]

20.01.2022 Happy International Rural Women's Day for tomorrow to all our farming friends. Today Sarah graduated with 11 other Australian Women in Agriculture from the National Farmers' Federation Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program! The program is well worth applying for. https://nff.org.au//irwd-2020-women-on-the-rise-in-agricu/

It’s important to realise there are always opportunities and when something ends, it’s not the end of you, said Sarah. 09.01.2022 http:// 2020 Rural Scholarship // Please join us in congratulating our 2020 Rural Scholarship recipient Darby McClaren Darby has been accepted into Yanco Agricul...tural High School in NSW and says the $3,000 scholarship will be a ‘really great help’. Yanco is a state specialist high school dedicated to studying agriculture. Darby has always known that he wanted to work in agriculture once completing school and hopes to one day be a Stock and Station Agent. Darby says It will be a great challenge to attend a high school in a different state. Unfortunately Victoria doesn’t have any dedicated state specialist high schools for Agriculture. Currently my biggest challenge is studying online remotely whilst we are dealing with the Covid-19 social isolation. The Scholarship will help me with costs incurred to set up for online learning. When we return to school some of the money will be used to cover uniform and Boarding costs and the remaining will be set aside to cover costs to attend shows and events with the school in the future Darby says. I am extremely grateful to Nagambie branch of Bendigo Bank for supporting a local resident such as myself towards achieving my dream of a career in Agriculture. I hope to be able to bring my Agricultural skills back to our region and work locally with our farming communities in the future. Thank you once again Nagambie branch of Bendigo Bank, you really are the Bank that supports the community. Our customers can give themselves a big pat on the back for helping Darby achieve his dreams
