19.01.2022 It has been an amazing 12 months at Glencraig. Not only have we cut 500 rolls of silage and miked 220 jerseys on 320 acres but we have smashed our own milk production records. We peaked at 23.5 ltrs and just over 2 kg/ms/day with a yearly average of about 21 ltrs and 1.8 kg/ms/day. We have also calved down 10 Vanahlem heifers this autumn who have already become Toms new favourites. Our biggest achievement of the year has to be the beautiful Glencraig Intgold Goldtime EX 92 pr...oducing a massive 11568 Ltrs 4.85% 561kg fat and 3.45% 399kg protein and a PI of 167 in 305 days. She is PTIC to JEBlackstone to calve in August. Goldtime has a very flash Maack Dairy Region 2yr old about to hit the dairy and a June '14 AltaGalaxies bull. 16.01.2022 This one is for our friends across the lake. A lot of people ask me who my favourite cow is. There is always a couple of obvious ones. However there is usually a young cow in the herd that you can't stop looking at. 06.01.2022 Some herd recording highlights from this week; Autumn calved cows are producing 2.1kg/ms and Autumn calved 2yo are producing 1.85kg/ms. Glencraig Jace Orchid EX 90 on her 8th lactation, produced 40.4Lts and 3.68kg/ms which means this year should be her 7th lactation over 8000Lts.
