06.01.2022 Just In, From Lucy Grade 5 Student Launceston : The Nightly News Olive picking season: It’s Olive picking season and its now the time to get out there and pick olives.... Supermarkets will start to have more olive oil. Not far away from St Leonard’s in Launceston, Glendale Olives has a farm with sheep and olives. Every year they pick thousands of olives, which then goes to a factory that makes olive oil. So how does Glendale Olives get the olives off the tree? They do not pick them by hand because that would take forever! They use a machine that vibrates to get them off the tree. Every picking season Glendale Olives invites others to help pick olives, while the adults pick the children play with sheep. How to get olive oil on your hands: you need just one olive to do this, once you have the olive squeeze it and juice will come out of it, put the juice in your palm and rub it in. Then your hand will look oily. See more
