23.01.2022 Children at the Kathleen Millikan Centre in the Meeyam room are enjoying fresh new changes to the outdoor environment. Educators have been working to extend children’s interests while being engaged in their environment. Recently we have added stepping stones to the bark area and a new sound making area. The area is made from recycled household items which otherwise may have been put into landfill. The children have enjoyed listening to the objects hit the fence on a windy day and using wooden spoons to make different sounds. The Meeyam room has also recently gained new outdoor picnic tables which have been great to eat lunch at on sunny days!

Download the app and set up your watch zone. Free for Apple and Android devices.

20.01.2022 We recently posted about the dangerous temperatures that the inside of a parked car can reach, but did you know that ‘hot prams’ are a danger too? Covering y...our pram to shield your little one from the sun might seem like the right thing to do, however even using material as light as muslin can reduce air circulation and cause the temperature to rise dramatically. This interview we did with TODAY earlier this year, shows how quickly things can change: https://9now.nine.com.au//coveri/ck5ye4zjy004u0hpgp3dc7ccj

03.01.2022 With the ring of steel removed and other restrictions now easing, many of us will be heading out to visit family, friends and the shops. For some, it may also... be the first time in a while that we are heading out regularly with the kids in the car too. Developing a habit or ritual may make it easier to help avoid a fatal distraction - even during those moments when you have a million things to do. One idea - even if there is no one in the back seat, try to get into the habit of leaving something in the back of the car such as a wallet, that you will need to get when you park.
