24.01.2022 We have worked on the Thomson River for many years, works have included willow control, erosion works and planting of indigenous vegetation. One of the sites we... worked on in 2018 at Myrtlebank, is shown here. Willows and riparian weeds were removed, a fence that took in 3 kilometres of the river was installed to protect the remnant vegetation and the 2,000 indigenous trees that have since been planted. Great support from landholders allows us to continue to do these works, not only for the benefit of the river, but also for the wider community. #gippsland #riverhealth #thomsonriver

The Wetlands was the recipient of a nice inflow ...of water last year under the Water for the Environment program - and what dya know! Its had a fantastic impact on the Wetlands, the birdlife and all sorts of other critters. Heyfield is a great little spot for a day trip so why not treat yourself, pop in the car and see the Wetlands for yourself? You can read more about the Heyfield watering here https://www.wgcma.vic.gov.au//community-partnership-sees-p

03.01.2022 Today we discovered our new RAT Barrow had been stolen from a locked storage container, so we are appealing for community help in publicising this in case anyon...e can provide the police or Latrobe City Council or us with information about it. We had only purchased it a matter a weeks ago, so it is virtually brand new. Please keep an eye out and report any suspicious behaviour or vandalism in the vicinity of the Reserve as we have also had to deal with a spate of rubbish dumping, young trees cut down, fences cut and 4WDs damaging the property. Your sharing of this post would be appreciated. Thank you. See more
