24.01.2022 Charlie Massy’s book was a major influence on our starting our Central Victorian Regenerative Farmers group which now has 25 farms/farmers as members who are sharing their learning from doing on farm trials, participating in workshops and training and progressing on their regenerative journey.

21.01.2022 I believe the findings that there is a strong correlation of statistics of rise of autism in the population and discovery of glyphosate in the food chain is not scientific proof; but is evidence pointing to possibility. However the science behind the belief that glyphosate is harmful to humans is compelling: Quote: Monsanto claims that Roundup is harmless to humans. Bacteria, fungi, algae, parasites, and plants use a seven-step metabolic route known as the shikimate pathway ...for the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids; glyphosate inhibits this pathway, causing the plant to die, which is why it’s so effective as an herbicide. Monsanto says humans don’t have this shikimate pathway, so it’s perfectly safe. Dr. Seneff points out, however, that our gut bacteria do have this pathway, and that’s crucial because these bacteria supply our body with crucial amino acids. Roundup thus kills beneficial gut bacteria, allowing pathogens to grow; interferes with the synthesis of amino acids including methionine, which leads to shortages in critical neurotransmitters and folate; chelates (removes) important minerals like iron, cobalt and manganese; and much more. Disappointing but true; due to exceptional demand over February and March and low lambing rates of males last year, we have no more wether lambs that we can supply for meat this year. Marcia and I have sold our much loved flock of Suffolk ewes to a nearby farm in Tourello, near Mt Beckworth where the Murphy family will be taking on and working to expand the Glen Greenock paddock to plate business. Father and son duo Gerard and Dom are fellow members of our Central Victorian Regenerative Farmers group which is focussing on ethical, environmentally sensitive methods of regenera...ting the land, soil, plants and animals. In recent years, Gerard and Dom have been working to build their pastures, soil health and expand biodiversity on the farm, and from now on they will be incorporating Glen Greenock Suffolks as part of their program. Angela also works to produce eggs, mushrooms, and a range of other produce from the property. Together, they will be an ongoing source of local, high quality and sustainable food. We are thrilled that our hard work in establishing the Glen Greenock Farm lamb business and its reputation for quality local pasture-raised lamb will be carried on and expanded by such a wonderful family committed to growing and selling quality naturally raised produce. Not only are we undertaking regenerative agriculture on the property to enhance soils, pastures, trees and livestock but we are also regenerating the Glen Greenock Farm paddock to plate business. !... Over the coming months we will not be supplying our lovely pasture fed Black Faced Suffolk lamb to our wonderful customers as our stock for this half of 2020 has all been sold. However we are taking this time to work on a program to regenerate our pastures, improve the soil, enhance the soil biology and produce more lambs on healthy pasture. , . Many producers who attended farmers markets or had ‘farm gate stores’ are now commencing direct customer deliveries because of the corona virus restrictions and may need a chiller on a temporary basis. 03.01.2022 Shearing finished yesterday. Really pleased with the condition of the ewes with 9 weeks until lambing.

03.01.2022 Sowing of multi species Winter cover crop finished yesterday by Stephen. 3 ha of demo area where I am comparing area with emerging weeds knocked by herbicide Vs no herbicide; hope to compare outcome of establishment with weed competition vs outcome using herbicide to reduce weed competition but evaluating any adverse affect on soil microbials. Further 4 hectares sown in 2 other paddocks. All seed was inoculated with J-S compost slurry and worm juice + AMF and Trychoderma spores powder; Triticale, barley, oats, Ryecorn, peas, vetch, Tillage radish, winter canola, leafy turnip, linseed, perennials chicory. Also sowed 1ha of oats, chicory, plantain and leafy turnip.
