24.01.2022 Last weekend's return to the field saw some movement in the rankings of Most Runs and Most Wickets for the Club. Marko Dordevic edged ever closer to his 400th wicket for Glen Iris, going past Grant Sprague to become the 12th on the list of the Club's great wicket takers. Toby Tribe didn't bother the scorers too much on Saturday but enough to take him to 8th on the list of highest run scorers for the club, past Billy Glover.... Phil Mather also squeaked past Geoff Knight to no. 11th on the list of Highest Run Scorers for the GICC. Viv Buckley continued the single figure scorers climbing the table with his innings on Saturday taking him past Arden Joseph to 23rd on the run scoring list. Rohan Wight's 44 saw him pass Sultan Kirby and Wally Walliker to get him to 119th on the list, while Lachlan Ferguson also moved up past Gary Parker to 108th during his innings in the 1st XI on Saturday. However, the biggest movement this week came from Jim Parry as he passed 2000 runs for the club during his 75* in the 4th XI. Jim moved to 97th on the all time list, passing such luminaries as Michael Ventura, Bill Hutchinson, Lachie Armstrong, Martin Gordon, Paul Stewart, Ian McIntosh, Andrew Petropolous and Peter Allsop. Well done to all concerned!

20.01.2022 A bit of movement in the most runs made for the club this week, with some impressive scores in all XIs. Adam "Banger" Lane capped a memorable game no 250 with 70 runs to take him past Billy Ken to 21st on the list of highest runs scorers for Glen Iris. Jamie Gough returned to the field after an eventful off season welcoming his second child, moving past Wayne Ibbot and Lynden Ferguson during his innings on Saturday. The LOC2 side saw the majority of the movement where Scott R...ankin passed teammate Michael Ventura to become 103rd on the list, with Peter Mulcahy also moving up to 189 past Andrew Giles. Lucas Skelton continued his race with Nick Jamieson, going past Jammo and Rob Morris from 81 to 79 on the all time list, in his 52* from the weekend, while in the same game, Lachie Ferguson made 43 taking him past Peter Everett, Jamie Barrance, Richard Farrington, Ken Clark and Rohan Buckley into 113th on the list. Krishan Paulpillai kept climbing with his 26 on the weekend taking him to 186th on the list past Phil Dinning and Bruce Thompson, whilst in the 3rds, the Prez, Scott Rojko's cameo towards the end of the innings saw him go past Peter Hannon to no. 143 on the list of highest run scorers for the club. There's been little movement by way of wickets but Scott Rankin did manage to get himself past Billy Kent on the weekend, with his 265th wicket for the club taking him to 26th on the list of highest wicket takers for Glen Iris. Well done to all our players this weekend

15.01.2022 Congratulations this week to Alex Mather who joins the list of highest runs scorers for the Glen Iris Cricket Club. Alex's 21 v Trinity Willison at Howard Dawson on the weekend, saw Alex go to 198 on the list of highest run scorers for the club, with 1017 runs in 52 games. Joining the club as a junior and making his senior debut in the 2010/11 season, Alex has been a stalwart of the Dordevic Revolution over the years and has made 1 x 50 and 1 x 100 for the club with a highest... score of 103x. He has also won the 2015/16 5th XI Fielding Award & the 2019/20 4th XI Fielding Award. Congratulations on your milestone Alex!

14.01.2022 In the final clean up of the Stats for the season just gone, the club has realised that Andrew Stolzenburg's 1/10 in the Wright Shield Grand Final win against Ashburton was his 100th senior wicket for the Glen Iris Cricket Club. Making his debut in the 2010/11 season, Andrew has played 87 games for the Glen Iris Cricket Club, taking exactly 100 wickets, which makes him only the 98th player in Club History to do so. A big game player, Andrew's best bowling figures of 6/67 came... in the 2016/17 B-Turf Grand Final against North Balwyn, in a performance that saw Andrew awarded the medal for the best player in that Premiership win. 1st XI Player cap no. 93, Andrew has also made 430 runs for the club, with a highest score of 42. His performances have seen Andrew awarded the Mike Bullock / Ivan Greaves Jnr. Rising Star Award in 2015/16 and the 2019/20 1st XI Fielding Award. This year's 1st XI Premiership was Andrew's second for the club, to go along with the 2016/17 twos flag already mentioned and in a fitting accolade for his hard work on the training track and on field this season, Andrew was awarded the Jim Toohey / Glenan Thomas Most Determined Player Award. Congratulations to Stolzy on his milestone wicket!

11.01.2022 This weekend's R3 fixture in the 4ths sees Jim Parry play his 100th game for the Glen Iris Cricket Club. A former reality TV Star, Jim joined the Glen Iris Cricket Club in the 2009/10 season playing Vets, which he continued to play pretty much exclusively in his 1st 5 seasons for the Club, captaining the Vets in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons before taking on the captaincy of the Colts in 2015/16. In his 99 games since his debut, Jim has made 1835 runs (117th most in Club H...istory) with 9 x 50s and a high score of 98. He's also taken 54 wickets, with his best bowling figures of 4/20 coming in R1 this season, courtesy of a first career hattrick. Along the way he has won the 2015/16 Colts, 2017/18 6th XI and 2018/19 4th XI Batting Awards and the 2017/18 6th XI Most Valuable Player Award, a year in which he also won the Fielding Award for that side. The 2018/19 season saw Jim play in his first premiership with the club, in the 4th XI LOC5 Premiership win, a game in which he was awarded the Most Valuable Player on the ground by the umpires. Congratulations on a fine 100 games for Glen Iris Jim and we hope you have a great day.

08.01.2022 Plenty of confusion abounded in the Colts CSB Sunday side finish to the year, with the Grand Final abandoned over half way into the game, only for the side to return the next week to re-start the game. Unfortunately, the result in the re-started game did not go our way but the replay did see the stalwart of the side, Benji McDonell duly salute by taking his 100th wicket for the Glen Iris Cricket Club, becoming the 99th player in Club History to do so. Making his Senior debut ...in the 2015/16 season, Benji has played 118 games and now taken 103 wickets for Glen Iris, with best bowling of 4/24, figures of which were achieved this season. His wickets this season led him to winning the Colts Most Valuable Player Award this season, to go along with 2019/20's Bowling Award for the Colts. Benji has also made 242 runs for the club with a high score of 32* and in recognition of his effort and determination from his early days at the Club, Benji was awarded the Gary Wilson Spirit of Cricket Award in the 2015/16 season. Congratulations to Benji on achieving a magnificent milestone.
