20.01.2022 What an amazing day for Shauna’s Bridal Shower. Mother Nature - and Shauna’s friends - have provided the perfect setting for a day to be remembered. *** Who else thinks these guys should take up a side-hustle styling events?

20.01.2022 To say we’re excited to tick this little project off the list is an understatement! About 80sqm of traditional hand tumbled Littehampton clay pavers to create an ‘all-weather’ entry and alfresco area for our Old Shearing Shed. We knew it would be a valuable addition to our most utilised space, but we are thrilled with how well it has come up. ... Big thanks to local landscape contractor Adam Klun for an amazing job!

18.01.2022 The guests have long gone but Glen Lea Homestead is still buzzing from the amazing energy that Erica and Dion brought with them yesterday. They were seriously on fire Absolutely gorgeous styling was the order of the day with course after course of phenomenal food rolling out courtesy of Billy Dohnt and his team. There was even a pop-up The Original Pancake Kitchen pancake bar. Yep...late night pancake goodness for all!... But it was the energy on the dance floor (and in the paddocks for that matter - stay tuned for the video!) that was the highlight. So glad they opted for an open air celebration under the lights - they would have surely lifted the roof off the old shearing shed! What a night!

16.01.2022 In the short time we’ve been hosting weddings, we’ve learned a lot about photography. Unfortunately this knowledge has not transferred to an ability to photograph our stud cattle for their day in the spotlight in the big sales catalogues... See Exhibit A (and cue Benny Hill music) - the difference between photographing Bulls (on the left) and Heifers (right). There’s an interesting paradox here...normally it’s the male of the species that makes a run for it - to the bar -... as soon as the camera comes out Much love to the hard working photographers who make everything look so amazing (and easy). Any tips are welcome...

15.01.2022 Evan Bailey Photography doing what he does best together with Vu Phan Productions. These guys whipped this ever-so-willing and not-so-shy bridal party into an absolute frenzy (in a paddock...) getting those candid photos that we all love! Couldn’t help but laugh along with Erica and Dion and their crew - this is a very accurate snapshot of what they got up to not only during their shoot but throughout the night! ... Cannot wait to see these shots! Now I just need to get this song out of my head! da-da-da da da dada da-da dada

12.01.2022 Farm mascot and our official tour guide, Ollie, having a ball amongst the rows of hay being prepared for baling. Can’t bring myself to tell him his jumps will be bales by tomorrow...

10.01.2022 Aside from weddings, wagyu and accommodation, we have also had the privilege of nurturing a few young racehorses here at GLH. One of our horses were featured last night in a news story on Channel 10 Adelaide. Matas, or Jessie as she’s affectionately known, was an orphan foal having lost her mum at birth. Shortly after she also fell ill and it was not long after that she came to us at the age of 9 months old as a tall, lanky young horse who needed some time and care to overc...ome her difficult first few months on the planet. During her stay she even managed to feature in a couple of wedding photos when her breeder and trainer Michael Hickmott and wife Jade Kluske became the first couple to marry at Glen Lea! In all, Jessie spent about a year and a half as part of the Glen Lea Homestead family before going off to begin her career as a racehorse. She has taken time to mature and grow into herself but she lines up in the feature Jericho Cup in Victoria on Sunday. Jessie has remained a part of our extended family and we will be cheering her on from our living room on Sunday.

06.01.2022 Am I more excited about this beautiful rain, or am I more excited about planning my brother’s wedding here at Glen Lea Homestead...? The wedding...of course, the wedding!

02.01.2022 Sore feet. Warm heart An amazing day sharing this magnificent occasion with the beautiful Emily and Thomas. So blessed to be able to welcome such amazing people to our humble little farm here at Glen Lea Homestead.

02.01.2022 As we sit back and contemplate our next few months in a life of social distancing and self-isolation, Mother Nature has her own special way of giving us a little perspective. These three calves, our first for this season, all arrived in the last 24 hours. It’s hardly a tough life being stuck living and working from home when you live in this beautiful part of the world and you get to witness special things like this. Our family are quite fortunate indeed! ... But we do feel for those whose wedding plans have been affected by this pandemic. Our thoughts go out to our beautiful clients currently grappling with the task of trying to re-plan a dream they’ve been passionately bringing to life for months, or more. Life will go on, though. The world will continue to turn and new life will come and grow. Love will win. And if all else fails, pictures of cute calves will make you smile for a minute or two
