25.01.2022 26/03/2020 To our patients and the community of Glenmore Park, No doubt you are aware of the constantly changing and fluid situation regarding COVID-19, and the directions from the government for social distancing. As health professionals, the health and safety of our patients, staff, and family are of our highest concern. Our practice has the highest levels of infection control, hand hygiene, and sterilisation protocols. Over the past few weeks we have increased our precauti...ons to ensure the safety of our patients. However, given the current escalating situation and new guidelines from the ADA and Dental Board, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all Non-Urgent or Routine dental treatments until 30th April or until further notice. Although dental practices currently are legally allowed to open, the Australian Dental Association has advised all dental practices to move to Level 3 restrictions. We will still be able to see you in the event of a dental emergency. A dental emergency is classified as a severe abscess or swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or severe pain. All routine dental treatment is to be postponed. In this time of need, our hospitals and GP clinics are in desperate need of protective equipment such as masks, gloves and gowns. It would be irresponsible for us to be using these precious resources on non urgent or cosmetic dental treatments when they could be used to save lives. This virus is a real health emergency and we absolutely do not want to see what has happened in Italy and Spain to be repeated here in Australia. We hope that in a month or so, this will seem as a large overreaction with the measures we are putting in place. That will mean that we would have avoided the worst in this crisis.
