25.01.2022 Special Announcement Regarding Qualification for 2020 McDonald’s Queensland Short Course Championships. Swimming Queensland understands that for some swim...mers there have been limited or minimal chances to compete and qualify for the 2020 McDonald's Queensland Short Course Championships. As such, Swimming Queensland will be allowing swimmers who qualified for an event at the 2019 McDonald's Queensland Short Course Championships, but have not had the opportunity to qualify yet for that event at this year's championships, to compete in that event if they wish (even if they have aged up). This will be facilitated via a manual nomination process using an online form which will be made available when nominations open in August. See more

23.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 26TH MARCH 2020 Message to all Clubs, Coaches and Members. In light of the recent announcements by the Australian and Queensland Governm...ents with regards to the COVID-19 virus including closing of venues, discouraging non-essential travel etc, The DDRSA Management Committee has made the difficult decision to introduce the temporary closure and suspension of all DDRSA activities until September 2020. The Management Committee will continue to monitor the situation and inform you as soon as we have an update on when normal operations can resume. As you would appreciate, with the strict guidelines in place, it has been a difficult, yet necessary decision that will be reviewed on a month by month basis until further advice is received from our governing bodies. What this will affect: - No club meet dates will be approved in this region before the 1st September 2020 - The DDRSA AGM will not be held until September October 2020 (Venue and date TBC) - The DDRSA Short Course Championships will be reviewed for a possible September October 2020 date (Venue and date TBC) - The DDRSA Annual reports will be added to the website by the end of May 2020 Many clubs, coaches and online groups are offering dry land training schedules to assist with swimmer fitness whilst facilities are shut. Please check with your individual coach or club so that an appropriate level can be started. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time. Please stay safe and follow the advice given to stop the spread of this horrendous virus.
