25.01.2022 Another sample from my appearances on the WIN-TV telethon in 1986, this was my night time spot, the last of my 4 appearances over 2 days on the show. Unfortunately my introduction and the first few seconds of my performance were eaten by the video machine :( This is probably the last time I performed in the style of the silent magician, and certainly the last recording of me in this style (except for a few television commercials, which really don’t count as performances) Tho...se who are following my television history will notice the return of the multiplying ball routine, the same routine from my first ever TV appearance on "The Gong Show" 2 years prior. I hope you can see some improvement in both the technique and the presentation! (Fun Fact: My best friend was in the green room talking with Bill Collins Mr Movies chauffeur, both expressing how much they didn’t like himDuring which the man himself was standing behind, glaring down at them. So much for any chance of a Hollywood career for me!)

24.01.2022 Jeanne, you were one of a kind, in a time when TV was fun and variety ruled the clubs you were queen of em all xxx

23.01.2022 Here is one of my favourite coin routines , which I still perform today (with a little more pizazz) This is also the final clip I’ll release out into the universe from my year on Kids News in 1986, the remaining few unseen clips will stay in the archives for the good of us all :) Soon I’ll be posting a selection from my 4 year residency on the TV show Ace...A much more relaxed and off the cuff type show where I really found my feet. Stay tuned!

23.01.2022 Here I am in another episode of "Ace" WIN-TV 1986... this time in a new frock! At my first shoot on this show I didn't know we were taping 6 weeks of my episodes in one day, so only had the clothes on my back. I learned to take my entire wardrobe for changes between episodes.... Some I now regret looking back on my "fashion statements!" Bring on the comments!!!

22.01.2022 Well this is a fun little clip from my time on Ace WIN-TV 1987 which unfortunately my hungry video machine ate the front and back of...so you’ll never know where I told Meredith to stick her finger! :) Those who have been following my appearances on this show will remember Meredith has asked to be chopped in half on a few occasions. In the missing moments from this segment I was explaining you can’t just chop someone in half, they have to start small and work their way up to it then out comes the sword!

22.01.2022 Remember when we had paper money, and $2 notes? Check out this clip on Ace WIN-TV 1987 where I perform another little routine I put together just for the show... enjoy!

18.01.2022 Another surviving clip from my time on Ace WIN-TV. At best guess we must now be in 1987. I learned this routine just for the show as Space Ace always wore a tie, so I just had to do something magical with it :)

18.01.2022 Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the internet.... I’m baaaack, with another fun clip from 1986 on Ace, WIN-TV. This time with the trick which would evolve to be my closing routine for every show to this very day! Presented here as a 4 minute trick, I had no idea it was to become a 10 minute comedy routine which saw me booked internationally. People literally ringing and asking for the guy with the oranges! Here it is in its most basic form before it grew into my number one signature routine!

17.01.2022 After my stint on Kids News I was asked to join the long running afternoon kids show Ace...This was a totally ad libbed, non scripted show. We shot it straight to camera with no retakes, so it had a totally live feel. What we taped is what went to air, warts and allsome quips walked a thin line for children’s TV, sometimes punchlines were stepped on, or timing interrupted, but somehow we got through and we always had a ball! I appeared on this show weekly from 1986 righ...t up to the final episode in 1990, taping 6 weeks worth of my episodes in a 1 day shoot each time. I had the worst head cold during my first taping (the hanky you can see in shot is there for it’s proper use. I’m sure some viewers thought it was there to produce a dove, but it’s snot! :) Due to the the shooting schedule it looked like I had the worlds longest lasting flu for 6 weeks an early incarnation of the Corona virus perhaps?

16.01.2022 Here I am presenting one of my favourite coin routines on Ace WIN-TV 1986. It was a challenging shoot with both hosts trying to catch me out, Space Ace’s right hand man having a very definite advantage! I had to time the moves to avoid detection, breaking the flow of the routine (not that that was anything new for this show!) Unfortunately the tape is a little worn, but I think still a bit of fun worth sharing.

16.01.2022 This is one of my most favorite clips from my 4 years on the TV show Ace in 1986 This segment summed up the live and lively nature of the show perfectly. What starts as a quick cup and ball routine soon disintegrates into mayhem when Meredith blurts out an ambiguous comment that shouldn’t have been on children’s TV at the time She then collapses in fits of laughter, to the point the camera had to be taken off her as she ended up underneath the desk! All this while I’m tryi...ng to concentrate on a multi phase routine! You can hear the camera men and floor crew laughing, clapping and interacting from the background, they would often heckle throughout my segments, which added a lot of fun. I couldn’t bring myself to cut my intro as it was so typical of the show, for the impatient skip to 01:06 Fun Fact: When I am congratulated on my appearance on the telethon I am a little speechless due to shooting 6 weeks in advance, my live telethon appearances were yet to occur so it took me a while to realise and play along

16.01.2022 This peek into the vaults finds another sample from my time as resident magician on Kids News in 1986. Gotta say, presenting this classic kids show trick to one person rather than having hundreds of little voices screaming out was a little different. At the end there is another glimpse of the silent magician I thought I was going to be.

15.01.2022 Now this is something I find very magical... I love amazing people, and people who are amazing! https://fb.watch/1QhfAX_Spb/

14.01.2022 This is the 3rd routine from my Saturday morning episode of Ace, WIN-TV 1988, where I performed a quick trick between each cartoon. When I say "it looks like the black one has shattered on us Space Ace, the pelican, told me later he thought I meant it shatted on us! Needless to say I changed the wording after that!

12.01.2022 Another clip of resident magician Glenn Keeley (that's me!) from Ace on WIN-TV, still in 1986. I don't even remember learning this one!... Maybe I should revisit it and give it the pizzazz and showmanship of the current me! The hard thing about doing prediction tricks to a TV host is the viewers always think it's set up, I think the hosts reactions say it all!

09.01.2022 In this episode we bid a sad farewell to Meredith, who after 7 years of hosting Ace decided to move on to other things. I was fortunate enough to have worked with her for her final 2 years with the show and they were the highlight of my TV career. The show went on for another 2 years with another host but was never the same. replaced but never equaled! I didn’t know this was to be my final appearance with her so I’m glad we went out with something special (or was this the tr...ick that scared her off!) Fun fact: After this one we got a note from the censors to say no more chopping up tricks allowed or we would lose our G rating! Glenn Keeley on Ace WIN-TV 1988

09.01.2022 Star of stage, television, and now cinema... sort of!!!! Being Santa's warm up man for "movies with Santa" at Warrawong Plaza... 2 sold out events, yet so many empty seats due to safe spacing! Nice to hear the laughs again, thanks to venues overcoming the challenges in staging events!

08.01.2022 You may remember Ace screened on WIN-TV every weekday after school, and on a Saturday morning in a slightly different format. I normally appeared in a long feature spot during the afternoon show. On the odd occasion they would put me on the morning show, sitting in for the whole program, doing a quick trick between each cartoon... it became a bit of a magic special episode. In this episode my total segments add up to just over 20 minutes! I’ll post selected individual segme...nts over the next few weeks to spare you ;) Fun fact: This was our first shoot after Christmas, because we taped 6 weeks in advance I didn’t realise this episode was going to air much later. Hence the confusion in my introduction so in this spot there is a pelican, and a goose! Glenn Keeley on Ace WIN-TV 1988

07.01.2022 In this episode of Ace WIN-TV 1988 the show got a facelift for the new season. New set, logo, theme tune, and the prize barrel of death!!! As you'll see if you stick around to the end of the clip it was rather large, heavy, and dangerous upside down pyramid suspended directly above my head! If it broke loose it would have killed me! (it almost wipes me out swinging like a pendulum as it is!) Asking me to magic the barrel down was thrown at me on the spot, and for a while I ...didn’t think the "special effects" department was going to comply...Enjoy! Glenn Keeley on Ace, WIN-TV 1988

07.01.2022 Another of my early appearances on Kids News throughout 1986 as the shows resident magician. Just before going to camera they asked me to include Nikki in the tricks I normally do by myself, so my usual routines went out the window. Fan fact: Steven Jacobs was watching off camera, sitting on the rungs of a ladder. When the flowers appear he was so surprised he fell off the ladder and hit the floor! :)

05.01.2022 Reposting this one as the original post was missing the beginning and climax to the routine... I've now managed to restore it and think Meredith's torment should be enjoyed in it's entirety ;) Glenn Keeley "Ace" WIN-TV 1987

04.01.2022 Here is one of my appearances on the WIN-TV telethon in 1986, which Meredith mentioned coming up in my previous clip from Ace" I had 3 spots during the children’s programs on day one, and 1 spot in evening family viewing time on day two. It was a fun 2 day event rubbing shoulders with many stars of the day, including several of the cast of A Country Practice and Sons and Daughters to name a few. I recall the fabulous 4 Kinsman doing the Hawaii 5 0 theme as chickens!... And will never forget carefully stepping over Donnie Sutherland of Sounds and Pat McDonald from "Number 96 and Sons And Daughters fame, as they slept curled up on the floor in the green room (yes, they kept the food and drinks flowing backstage very generously! ;) This is one of my kids spots from the event. (Fun Fact: Unbeknown to me they were adding music to my performance in the control room, making me look a complete dope saying this would be good with some music)

02.01.2022 For all my fellow magicians/comedians... We share the pain!!! https://fb.watch/3bTxtK6kmp/

01.01.2022 So here we have the big finale of my Saturday morning "magic special" episode of Ace WIN-TV 1988. What a great experience it was to appear for the whole show between each cartoon rather than my usual guest spots on the afternoon shows... This is the last segment of several from this episode.
