25.01.2022 PATIENCE _ I have been travelling to New Zealand for many years but I first saw this shot 5 years ago. I have been back every year and been past this particular location every time and always wanted the conditions to be right but they never have been .. until last year. _ I was running a tour and saw this and everything started to fall into place for what I envisioned the shot to be. I stopped got out and stood in the rain waiting until I got this.... _ I guess the interesting thing is with photography you always get asked was it easy to get this shot or gee you got lucky there, that’s crap photography to me is a game of patience with mother nature and sometimes you win sometimes you lose, the trick is to keep turning up, its a bit like life I guess. 22.01.2022 THE POUCH _ There could be worse ways to spend winter in the Australia Alpine area, at least this little joey thinks so! _ Geehi is a brilliant place to photograph Kangaroos up close and personal, I've spent so much time down here, you can literally get right up next to them with ease and just wait for little moments to happen. ... _ See more

22.01.2022 REFLECTION I took this shot in NZ earlier this year at the beautiful Moke Lake just out of Queenstown. There are certain things you look for as a landscape photographer and reflections are definitely one of them. I've been a bit absent here lately due to some personal issues and it has made me reflect (hence the image choice) on what's important in life and also what's not. Perspective and clarity are such powerful and underestimated commodities in life the trick is g...etting to be able to use them. It is always good though to give yourself the time to reflect on the people, places and activities that bring you happiness! Enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are.

21.01.2022 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY To all of my Central Coast friends, if you know anyone who is looking for work and would like to join one of Australia's leading Printing and Framing companies right here on the Central Coast then tell them to send me a DM right here and we can chat further. https://www.indeedjobs.com/created-for-life-39152c0//en_AU

21.01.2022 CHALLENGE _ I have spent the best part of the last 10 years travelling to incredible places and taking images of things I had only ever dreamed of. I've taken a ton of people with me and have always enjoyed the learning and interactions that come with taking groups of people into wild and wonderful places. _ I am only now just realising the amount of work that went into building and maintaining a business like this and also the impact it may have had on me capturing my o...wn unique images. I never took for granted the business I built, the people I have met nor the images I have been able to capture. _ One thing I have learn't through Covid is that it's great to reflect on what important in life. I love a fight and a challenge so this period for me has been life changing in terms of adaptability and sustainability and I am so very lucky I diversified as business has been good through this period. _ I always wanted to create some bodies of work that represented me and my connection with my local area and in particular the ocean. I've always lived somewhere near the beach all along the East Coast of Australia and as such I wanted to start creating images the reflect the beauty and power that is always right in front of me. _ The Central Coast is home and in particular Wamberal. As such I have created some new work focused just on the ocean and all shot at Wamberal Beach. _ As always I am truely grateful for your support and kind words and I would love to hear your thoughts on the images I release of the next little while. Thanks as always. See more

21.01.2022 That Tree _ I normally would have been to New Zealand a few times already this year but not to be at the moment. Here is one of the most photographed trees in the world, the beautiful Wanaka Tree in the spring time. _ Its such a picturesque little town, the surrounds are so beautiful and the town itself has some great restaurants and vineyards near by which makes it an extremely popular destination. ... _ Enjoy your weekend. See more

19.01.2022 STRENGTH _ There's nothing quite so incredible as standing directly in front of a beautiful creature like this. The power and wisdom these animals have is humbling to be around. I cannot wait to get back to Sri Lanka and my thoughts are with my friends from this beautiful country who are struggling so much now particularly in the tourism sector. _ Enjoy your afternoon.

18.01.2022 THE PORT _ I've been working on projects around Sydney for years in order to create a body of work that is a little different. This was shot a few years back at the start of the journey, all of this work was photographed from a Helicopter with the doors off looking down and trying to find unique views of very common things. _ This is out a Port Botany looking down on the shipping containers. I would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

18.01.2022 ALL SKY _ There’s a ton of unwritten rules in photography this breaks most of them but who cares the sky looked so intense I just had to show it off. _ This is one more from the magical night last Thursday, it literally was on . ... _ See more

17.01.2022 I was very happy to be the test pilot recently for Peter Eastway's Better Photography Magazine and Fujifilm X Series AU interviews for the magazine. Peter is a legend and always does interviews over the phone but decided to conduct the interview as a zoom chat and record it as he can't always include everything in the magazine article. Have a watch when you have time and let me know what you think. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX2LAl_yNVM

17.01.2022 Vareid This was a lesson in making the most of a rushed situation. I was running around everywhere because the sky was about to go off and there were beautiful clouds and I just couldn't find a composition that worked. I was getting frustrated and then I just relaxed and thought oh well if I can't photograph it I will just enjoy it. It was literally a few minutes later that this little shot presented itself, I only got three in before it was all over and this was one of ...them. I love Lofoten as you can probably tell.

17.01.2022 INNER GLOW _ This is an oldie but it was so much fun getting this shot. I planned this for sometime in order to get the king tides in summer and also the angle of the sun just right to make it all work. _ I was lucky to get out of the cave without damaging my camera, straight after I took this shot the cave filled with water and I got pretty soaked. ... _ Its nice when you plan a shot not just take a "by chance" image, there is something a lot more satisfying about it. See more

17.01.2022 THE BRIDGE _ What a magical city Sydney is, with two of the most iconic human built landmarks in the world, one being the Opera House and the other the amazing Harbour Bridge. _ I don't think there are too many unique angles of this left but there is always the opportunity of just documenting it at any point in time. I've been down around the Harbour a lot lately and I will take any opportunity to photograph the Bridge that I can get. ... _ Don't forget also for anyone interested I am running my world first photography masterclass with BridgeClimb Sydney teaching some tips and tricks on photography and taking photos from the top of this beauty. If you know anyone who might be interested please send them the link, there are limited places and they are filling very fast. Thank you. _ https://glennmckimmin.com/workshops-bridgeclimb/ See more

17.01.2022 Hamnøy _ To photograph the Northern Lights is an adventure like no other. There is the apprehension, the waiting, the predications, the exhilaration and the obvious low points not seeing them at all. _ You win some and you loose some but when you get it, the feeling is something quite incredible and one I will never forget. To get them over the more iconic locations is something special again. I had been to this place 4 times and had only seen the lights at this location... once. In my mind every trip to the Lofoten Islands is worth it. _ See more

16.01.2022 Gallop _ It's one thing to see a horse galloping in the wide open field, the speed, the precision and the grace is something I love watching. It's an entirely different thing seeing them do it in the snow. _ It was bitterly cold this day and watching the mob for quite a few hours was so much fun. On this occasion I didn't disrupt them too much just observed and moved closer and closer with care. ... _ Hope you like it and stay safe Brumbies. See more

16.01.2022 A NEW LOOK As a photographer its always fun trying to figure out how to get a new angle of a popular location. I have been super lucky to partner with BridgeClimb Sydney to create a series of workshops that take me and whoever would like to come with me to photograph the Harbour like never before. I went up for the first time a few weeks ago and it is an experience everyone should try, I am extremely scared of heights but I faced that fear and got to the summit for what ...was a true highlight of my life. The photographic opportunities are spectacular, I love this angle of the Opera House, it was beautiful soft light, no wind, just the sound of the city below. If anyone would like to join me on a full or half workshops please follow the link for more information. Have a great weekend. https://glennmckimmin.com/workshops-bridgeclimb/

15.01.2022 FORRIES _ Last Thursday was about as perfect as it gets at sunset, the colours, the lack of wind and all the magical drama you need in the sky. _ This at beautiful Forresters Beach 5 mins from home. Thank you to my beautiful son for making us run down to the beach. ... _ Cheers _ See more

15.01.2022 SLOVENIA _ The Kozjak waterfall in Slovenia is spectacular, there is so much beauty on the way to it but there are also some horrific stories associated with this area of Slovenia. _ Although being only a 20 minute walk from the carpark through the lush green forest and aquamarine rapids, I felt an uneasiness along the way knowing that this was the site of WWI’s Isonzo Front, where 1.7 million soldiers died. ... _ You can still walk through caves and trenches that remain from this battle, it's hard to imagine a place of such immense beauty being the site of something so terribly horrible. I guess thats humanity for you. _ Once you arrive near the falls the walls narrow and a walkway takes you right up to the spectacular view of a 15 meter drop of water cascading into a luminous aqua pool. _ Enjoy. 15.01.2022 TWISTED The Snowie's got a lot of snow last week and potentially more coming soon. If you haven't made the journey over to Charlotte's Pass you should try it one day, it has some of the best snow gums and if there has been fresh snow they are amazing to see in the thick of winter. I shot this a few years ago its quite a magical little part of the mountains.

15.01.2022 FRISKY _ Spending time with these beautiful, intelligent brumbies is something I will always treasure. Their future and fate is still some what undecided, hopefully I get to see them again soon. _ I sat with this particular mob for a while and its interesting watching the dynamics that take place within the group. I watched these two get long for a while and then later it all turned nasty it made for great photo's though. ... _ Enjoy your night. See more

15.01.2022 FRENZY _ This is one is off to a new home and should make a statement. The print size is 2 meters x 1 meter and we have framed it in a beautiful white box frame set back with spacers. _ The shot was taken back in 2016 during a brilliant summer storm in Terrigal.

14.01.2022 GOODBYE WINTER _ Well as we say good bye to our winter other parts of the world are getting ready to say hello to theirs. Just like Slovenia, arriving here was magical, those streaks you can see are snow flakes the size of 50 cent pieces just falling through the air with not a breath of wind present. _ Still one of the best days of photography I've ever had in one of the most magical countries in the world. I hope my good friends over there are still safe and happy. One day we will get back there.

14.01.2022 RETAINING QUALITY AT SIZE As a photographer there is no greater honour than someone purchasing your work to put on their walls. My job isn't just to capture the shot its also to ensure that when my clients receive their artwork, the quality is second to none. I'm luckier than others because I own Created For Life Printing & Framing and I can control that quality. I'm proud and happy to say my team have more experience in the production of high quality archival printing an...d framing than just about anyone in the country. It's all in the detail, small things matter in this arena, here you can see a finished frame of size 204cm x 155cm, we have a saying that the back of the frame should look as good as the front and we pride ourselves on quality and consistency. This is an image I shot in Sri Lanka titled "Last Light" and when you view an image at this size it makes the entire photographic process make sense.

14.01.2022 ROW TO CHURCH _ The Church of Mary the Queen, also known as the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, is located on a small island in the middle of Lake Bled, Slovenia. _ The Church was built by Francesco Patavino from Padova way back in 1534. Legend has it that those who ring the bell and make a wish will see their wish come true. But there’s one rule: you can make only one wish.... _ I haven't actually been over to the Island because it is such a beautiful scene to photograph from all angles around the Lake. _ Enjoy your weekend. 14.01.2022 A BIG BLUNDER _ This shot reminds me of when I first starting taking landscapes photograph's. A mate and I were driving the car back from Darwin for my then boss and uncle, the great Ken Duncan. I was Ken's assistant for quite a few years and the only chance I really got to take photos was when I got an opportunity like this - to drive the 4,000 kilometres to get home. _ We decided we could make the 1000km drive and get to Devils Marbles for a sunset, the drive was smoot...h, we got there just in time and the colour was incredible everything was amazing. I shot about 10 rolls of film from every angle and was really confident I got some good stuff. _ I jumped down off one of the rocks to discover that I had my lens cap on for the entire sunset, I had a range finder film camera in those days and it was impossible to tell without looking at it that you had left the cap on. _ Devastation set in as I wasn't going to be back there in a hurry, we went into the Wauchope Hotel nearby and I tried to clear them out of Cooper's Pale that evening. The next morning we woke up and got a nice little sunrise with some friendly Dingoes and this was the result. _ Thank goodness for digital that mistake would now be impossible. See more

13.01.2022 EXPLORE _ One of the first lessons I ever learn't as a landscape photographer was to always go down roads, didn't matter where they were or where they were going you just might stumble on something beautiful. _ I've always stuck to this and New Zealand always delivers in one way or another. I went down what looked like a dead end dirt road only to discover a ton of magical scenes just like this. ... _ Enjoy your weekend. See more

12.01.2022 Webinar I was lucky to be asked by the incredible team at CameraPro to talk about my journey in the photographic industry so far and also my experience with the amazing Fujifilm X Series AU system I use. 12.01.2022 MORNING WALK This was an incredible early morning stroll up through the South East Pylon of the Harbour Bridge all the way up to the gun deck. Walking up stairs feeling the history of one of the most iconic landmarks in the world is a special experience. It was worth the 4am start to get here in time for sunrise and the view is stunning. If anyone photographers are keen to join me for this experience, there are only a few places left top get some images of the harbour th...at you may never get to experience again. Details here https://glennmckimmin.com/workshops-bridgeclimb/

12.01.2022 ROOM WITH A VIEW Another one from the beautiful Lofoten Islands in Norway, these little huts litter the entire island and are a real feature. They add a lot to images I take from this area. More than anything else I'd love nothing more than I warm beverage, a fire, the doors open and look out to that all day long. This image probably doesn't demonstrate the true scale of these mountains but let me tell you they are huge. ... Enjoy your afternoon.

12.01.2022 Hamnøy Postcard, picture perfect location - from where i'd rather be on a Monday. You can photograph this location at any time of the year during any conditions and somehow it always produces. I hope you had a great weekend.

12.01.2022 An image is not a Photograph until it's printed. As a photographer I want to ensure that the industry standards are always kept as high as possible to facilitate industry growth and knowledge for my clients and their’s. #CREATEDFORLIFE

11.01.2022 GUTHEGA _ The Alpine area of Australia is so very beautiful at the best of times but driving through in winter is something else. Of all the images that we see of Australia, there is always a lot of the beautiful coastline and the hot interior but it's something else to see gums trees covered in snow. _ I drove past this beautiful little scene on the way up to Guthega and just had to stop. As I went down to the bank and set up the wind picked up and blew the top layer of sn...ow off creating a really nice cold atmosphere for the image. _ Hope you like it. See more

11.01.2022 TRAVEL Alright enough already, sometimes you just want to get away, far away and right now it's just impossible. No international travel for who knows how long but how good will it be when we can see places like this again. This is Slovenia and anyone that follows me knows I love this country so much, it really has everything in such a small area. I'd give anything for some orange wine and a cream cake right about now. ... Enjoy your weekend wherever you are!

10.01.2022 Blue Bottles _ With the change in seasons upon us it won't be long until these little fellas are back causing havoc at the beach. _ I took this some years ago down at Avoca Beach, I got stung so many times as I had to place them in position in order to make the photo work. It was worth it though, they are such a big part of Australian beach life.
