19.01.2022 Time to recap on our game last weekend! We always knew, this game was going to be a tough contest and that it was. Beautiful conditions at the nest which saw a very tight contest against our rivals with the ball going back with and forth to each end. Glenorchy were held scoreless in the first quarter but turned it around in the second which eventuated to a late 2 goals to finish the first half 2 points ahead.... Clarence come out strong in the second half despite Glenorchy’s strong defensive pressure and managed to finish the game off with a 12 point win. The final score Glenorchy 28- Clarence 40. BEST: Bec Clifton, Laura Negri, Molly Mitchell, Zoie Crawford, Gennaveve Sullivan, Libby Haines, Kira Maas We see a massive improvement from our first hit out with Clarence which saw a 32 point deficit and we cannot wait to keep building on this for the remaining games ahead!

05.01.2022 This week the girls had a hard hit out with North Launceston. It was no secret that this game was going to be a tough contest and it didn’t let us down. In the first quarter N.Launceston came out strong and made us hurt on the score board. ... Full credit to our backs who stood up really well with Norths repeat entries. Second quarter fast approached, our defensive pressure increased, our midfield got rolling and our forwards become dangerous. The girls kicked 4 majors and kept North scoreless. Glenorchy steadily increased the margin for the remainder of the game with some hard hitting tackles and some sharp kicking around the ground. In the end we had a good win, some real positives came out of the game and as always some areas to work on. Best: L Haines, S Skinner, K Maas, J Webster, T Ford, Z Crawford So now we have reached the half way mark of the season we can be very proud of what we have achieved. Since losing the first game to Clarence we have not lost a game. What an exciting first half of the season by the Glenorchy Magpies! @solsticephotograpy
