Since then, Glenray has seen Carols hard work, dedication and passion as a support worker really make a massive impact of the participants lives and it hasnt gone unnoticed. Carol started out as a disability support worker, she went on to become a Team Leader. She has been part of Glenrays Auxiliary for many years too. The goal of this service is to enable people living with disabilities to live as independently in an environment where they have an active input into how they wish their home to function whilst capacity building. 25.01.2022 At Glenray we celebrate everyday with our Particpants. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations day that promotes inclusivity and celebrates the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities on December 3rd, every year. We hosted a Morning Tea and a BBQ at our two locations.... As an inclusive event we will be hosting a Movie Night on December 10th at Metro Cinemas watching The Addams family! Tickets are $16pp purchased from Metro Cinemas!

21.01.2022 International Womens Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women! Glenray was asked by Bathurst Regional Councill to suggest two great women in our company who could part of Bathursts International Womens Day. Glenray put forward Kay and Teresa from the Laundry who are both incredibly hard workers and friends. On Friday, March 6 from 5 pm, there will be a free community event in Machattie Park including complimentary nibbles and drinks, belly dancing, a stand-up comedian plus live music, all to celebrate IWD.

20.01.2022 Our Day Programs is currently running internally at our residential homes. As some fun, each house decorated their door for an Easter competition! It gave all our participants a common goal as well as brighten up The Village walks with new & interesting things to look at. Julie, our residential manager was the judge and she chose Illyarrie/ Melaleuca as the WINNER and the runner up was Waratah! What fun things are up to at home this Easter weekend?

19.01.2022 This is Anne Maree: a long-standing supported employee in our Laundry who also attends the Learning and Lifestyle Day Programs. Anne Maree informed staff that she wanted to register for Worlds Greatest Shave. She organised a shave date & venue, unfortunately, COVID-19 destroyed all her plans. However, committed and courageous, during her individual support services, the staff honoured her pledge! $201.70 was raised... A big round of applause for Anne Maree!

12.01.2022 REOPENING OF OUR LEARNING AND LIFESTYLE DAY PROGRAM CENTRES: As we are cautiously encouraged by the signs of a flattening of the COVID-19 curve, Glenray is preparing for the resumption of services as restrictions are lifted. The return of Glenray services will be a staged and measured approach. Our Learning and Lifestyle Day Program Centres located in Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee have reopened with in-centre activities being offered.... Glenray is following the Governments roadmap to recovery as a guide to bringing normality back to Glenray and the wider communities we serve. As we commence relaxing restrictions we are adjusting our operations to safely operate and maintain supports and services to our participants without risk to their health and safety, our staff and others in the community. We encourage everyone to maintain physical distancing, practice good hand hygiene and download the COVIDSafe app to keep us all safe. Our success depends on us implementing these measures as part of our daily lives. Glenray is excited to be introducing our winter programs that our participants and staff have chosen collaboratively. Our Learning and Lifestyle Programs are enhancing the programs and looking for any musical instrument donations. 02.01.2022 Glenray has supported people living with a disability for more than 60 years and now more than ever, our focus is on supporting these people through the impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic. We remain committed to continuing our service delivery during these challenging times, otherwise, the lives of people with disabilities are at risk. This unprecedented incident has necessitated the need to plan and implement precautionary measures in an attempt to ensure our clients can still ...access services whilst reducing the risk of exposure or infection for both them and our staff. What we are doing: -Continuing to monitor the advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health to ensure the best response in keeping people safe and infection-free -We are also in close communication with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). -Implementing measures to reduce the risk of infection across all Glenray sites and when visiting clients homes -Increased frequency of environmental cleaning -Providing information to clients and staff on infection prevention and control -Developing contingency plans to reduce the impact on our clients and staff.
