25.01.2022 Fire conditions to remain very high Tomorrow. Thursday 24/9/20 Permits remain suspended

24.01.2022 Please be aware that Glenreagh RFB will be doing a small hazard reduction on Lorikeet Drive this morning. Remember to phone Clarence Valley Fire Control and let your neighbours know if you intend to burn off. Permits start as of Tuesday 1st of September.

24.01.2022 Whilst it has been quiet from the outside, A lot of activity has taken place around here since the last fire season. With the help of public and private donations and grants, our brigade has had a major upgrade including new toilet and shower amenities, our outdoor area has been concreted and upgraded to make it a much nicer place to relax after a fire, Insulated roof, plus air conditioning for our office and kitchen . Equipment wise we have purchased Backpack Blowers and ...Misters, a chainsaw and a Thermal Imaging camera. A new computer, Refrigerator, TV, BBQ, for our station However, The piece de resistance to our upgrades is a wonderful mural for our station by local artist Honi Reifler who selflessly donated her time to make our station a nicer place to be. (although we think she secretly enjoyed herself ) Thanks to Glenreagh and wider community for your donations and support, It's what has made this all possible and will make working future fire seasons from here considerably more pleasurable. And Lastly, Thanks Honi, It's awesome. See more

15.01.2022 Some of you may be aware that we have just passed the 12 month mark of when fires started to approach Glenreagh for the first time. Over the coming months we as a community will need to be diligent in checking in with our freinds, family and neighbours. Leading up to November and beyond we may start to see Facebook memories or news stories reliving last years fire season. If you feel triggered it’s ok. Many of us here in the brigade will be feeling the same. Talk about i...t if you can. Below is a link to Service NSW, it provides a list of free support services. Some of these services are dedicated phone lines for bush fire affected communities. Use them, pass the numbers around. Look after each other. See more

14.01.2022 Work is continuing at the Nana Glen derailment. Contractors are delivering loads of gambion & road base to shore up the road below the rail line & allow access ...for salvage vehicles & cranes. Heavy machinery is being used to clear damaged rail line & freight containers. The two 400 tonne cranes that were delivered on site yesterday have commenced lifting the locomotive that fell on to its side. Thankfully rain has not fallen on the site today which will greatly assist the process. Residents & businesses on Morrows Road are hopeful that the rail line & road can get back to normal as soon as possible. Just a reminder that Morrows Road is closed at Palomino Drive and the roadblock is manned 24 hrs a day. Traffic on the road is heavy and the entire length of Morrows Road should be avoided unless you have a valid reason to be there. Thanks again to all contractors involved for their efforts. See more
