25.01.2022 A friendly reminder especially being the fire season please make sure we have plenty of room to make it down your driveways. Your home and life’s may depend on it. Our bigger trucks need 3m hight and 3m wide to safely get in.



25.01.2022 There is currently a haystack fire on Glenrowan Moyhu road that is under control with crews on scene with the fire. It is putting up a lot of smoke and will be for some time to come.

22.01.2022 Dandongadale, Mt Selwyn and Abbeyard Fire Update: People intending to travel to the Dandongadale, Mt Selwyn and Abbeyard areas during the coming days are being... asked to remain informed of the current fire situation. There are currently multiple fires ignited by dry-lightning in remote areas of the forest which are currently not contained. Firefighters, aircraft and heavy machinery will be operating in these areas. 21.01.2022 FIRE RELIEF INFORMATION Wangaratta Performing Arts and Conventions Centre is open as a relief centre with an animal relief centre open at the Wangaratta S...howgrounds, Golf Link Lane. ~ Wangaratta livestock exchange, Shanley Street, is available for livestock to be transported to if required to evacuate from fires. The facilities are sheltered and watered. Owners can supply their own stock with hay/feed, but feeding is available if required at owners cost. Pens are available for cattle, horses, sheep, alpacas etc. For further inquiries, please contact Andrea on 0400 486 487. More updates to come as we receive them

17.01.2022 Do you know your local Bi-Laws? Recently brigade members responded to a house fire which turned out to be an illegal burnoff. Within the Rural City of Wangaratta it is illegal to burn off without a permit in a residential Area, even outside of fire restrictions, this includes Rubbish, timber and garden waste, If failing to comply with these laws you can be charged! 17.01.2022 At 0254 this morning Glenrowan responded to a haystack fire on the Moyhu road. Upon arival it was a haystack of around 60 round bales lost . The incident controller went to a make tanker five and bigfills one to support us in the fire fight. Glenrowan remained on scene untill late this afternoon making sure the fire was safe and not going to cause any issues over the next few days. This is a reminder to make sure you monitor your hay stacks. Thanks to Wangaratta Fire Brigade South Wangaratta Fire Brigade Laceby West Rural Fire Brigade Greta Fire Brigade as well as Benalla Fire Brigade CFABenalla for the support. 14.01.2022 It has been a busy week for Glenrowan members with multiple deployments throughout the north east with deployments to the Walwa/Corryong fires, and the Abbeyard/Carboor fires. We have seen extreme fire behaviour and devastation these fires have caused. This is a timely reminder for the people of Glenrowan to revise your fire plan or make one before its to late. 04.01.2022 Reminder to all Glenrowan and surrounding residents, that the Glenrowan Fire Brigade will be helping support the Royal Children's Hospital, Good Friday Appeal. Our members will be doing the annual collection for this great cause on Friday the 2nd of April, starting approx. 9:30am in the Hamilton Park area. We will then be in Glenrowan at approx. 11am. When you hear the sirens and wish to donate to make it easier and quicker for our members could you please head outside towards the street. Let’s see if our great community can beat 2019 years record total of $4846.50!

04.01.2022 Thank you to everyone in Glenrowan, Hamilton Park and surrounds who donated today towards the Good Friday Appeal appeal. The Glenrowan Fire Brigade collected $4552.45. We thank everyone for their generosity and Taminick Fire brigade for letting us borrow there tanker for the day. We hope you all have a Safe and Happy Easter.
