25.01.2022 Don’t you hate when you get interrupted with a mouthful!? happy Sunday snap. We use rotational grazing so our cattle always have enough for a mouthful, resting the grass in between grazing means it has the chance to grow longer. . #glentorriepastures #regenerativebeef #allaboutthegrass

25.01.2022 These three have been breifly visiting other farms and have just got back together. Great to see no biffing, just a dusty hello and bellow.

22.01.2022 We definitely get excited about good beef, but one of the things that makes our beef so good is the dirt and grass we grow. I just love when we sow a multi-species pasture - the tiny seeds that hold so much potential and feel lovely running through your fingers. #glentorriepastures #fromgooddirtcomesgoodbeef #soilsfirst #greatbeef

22.01.2022 Listening to Sam trethewey on regen ag and carbon sequestration and getting my mojo back on after a long week in the office! Thanks Sam Trethewey and AgriProve

22.01.2022 Wondering what to do with a Girello Steak? - slice them for a simple succulent stir-fry, and it will be your new favourite cut. It soaks up flavours like a sponge. If you were a lucky few who have a pocket roast - stuff it full of garlic, mushrooms, and butter, seal it on the outside then roast until medium rare. You will not be disappointed with this amazing cut. Just don't over cook it !!

21.01.2022 have you every seen a happier blade of grass! I came across this fantastic image of a cross section of a blade for grass, with the caption that happy faces are vascular bundles. It makes me smile to think of the happy faces in our multi species paddocks.

21.01.2022 Did you see those eyelashes! Each year our replacement heifers and bulls are raised carefully to come to the call and move through paddocks calmly. And each year I end up with a favourite that comes and says hello when I call. I wonder who it will be this year

21.01.2022 Some dish dish delish items to win in this pack! All brought to you by an amazing bunch of food lovers and producers.

21.01.2022 While I was out this morning moving fences. I decided to place a small rock near a plovers nest that I had been watching for several weeks. As the grazing cattle were going to be in that part of the paddock soon I had decided to fence an area around it so the eggs could hatch undisturbed. As I approached quietly the mother jumped up at me and low and behold underneath were her first two chicks! And another two to hatch!

21.01.2022 Excuse the noise as our gorgeous big girls take the short cut and kick up their heals. Overtaking me on their way to the next gate and having a glorious time just running through the grass. #glentorriepastures #happycows #northwesttasmania #fromgooddirtcomesgoodbeef #tasmaniaeats #carbonfarming

20.01.2022 Nature wins. I love this image of lichen growing on our fence line, it gives me hope. When we provide the right conditions and let nature work it produces the most complex and beautiful things.

19.01.2022 Sound on for the full effect Ours bulls went in to visit the ladies today, and were very happy to announce themselves! These two are our younger bulls, and are a bit excited. Love is in the air !! #glentorriepastures #regenerativeagriculture #localbeef

19.01.2022 How much fun is Meat of a stick! If you missed our newsletter then you missed this beauty. The Best part of this is the marinade, or is it that the kids will tuck in no complaints or perhaps its the fexibility to add vege... Lets face it, this recipe just cant get better!! If you missed our newsletter then you missed this beauty. The Best part of this is the marinade, or is it that the kids will tuck in no complaints or perhaps its the flexibility to add easy vege... 17.01.2022 In our definition there are so many fathers that are always there to help us out, brush us off and give us the words of encouragement that keep us going. This fathers day we send our love to the men and women that play this role for people they love and cherish. ox photo credit Jon Tyson, on unsplash.com

17.01.2022 Its not everyday that I find a piece of meat that makes me hungry before its been cooked. But I can tell you the more of our ethically raised grass fed beef I pack into our beef boxes the more I just want to light the BBQ. What sets off your taste buds? https://www.glentorriepastures.com/products

16.01.2022 A heart felt thank you to all our amazing customers this week who have shown us once again that they care. You are the heart of my delivery rounds. Thank you from the whole team at Glen Torrie..... now we gear up for a big weekend. With our bags packed and shoes polished, we are ready (almost) for sharing what we do here at Glen Torrie Pastures and why we do it, at the culmination of Seedlab. Last jobs are to make sure the list of animals moves feeds and checks is all ready before we hit the road. #glentorriepastures #freshfarmbeef #northwesttasmania #seedlabtasmania #thankful

16.01.2022 With lots of lovely rain over the last few days there is now lots of lovely mud. Always find it such a benefit to be able to get the stock onto clean grass. This group were clearly excited about the move. #glentorriepastures #thegrassisalwaysgreener #regenerativeagriculture

16.01.2022 Posting our beef boxes around Tas got a whole lot nicer this year. We swapped over to recycled wool insulation, with a food grade liner this wrap keeps your beef box chill the whole way there. It’s easy to recycle - the outer to RedCycle and the inner in your green waste or compost. Meaning you only have to think about how you would like to cook your dinner... BBQ anyone? Order your box at www.glentorriepastures.com.au

15.01.2022 If wishes were fishes... Id have quiet a few this week these beauties are heading to customers in their beef boxes this week. Adding fresh local trout to your menu from Atkinson Aquaculture

13.01.2022 Friday night curry - with spring around the corner, but not quite here yet we are warming up again this week with a curry that never fails. Add extra chilli for the fearless or pair it back if the heat is not your thing. If its not already this could soon be a weekly staple - and lasts really well as a frozen meal for mid week meals too. Enjoy. https://www.glentorriepastures.com//a4a37ae5wmjgeeebly8zk1

13.01.2022 Happy Friday from our paddock to you with a drizzly few days we have enjoyed getting wet feet, and hope to drizzle a little more over the weekend. #glentorriepastures #springrain #homegrownbeefraisedright #carbonfarmersofaustralia

12.01.2022 One of our newest cuts to Our beef boxes is a Girello, while we have trialed them over the last year. We have fallen in love with the light and lean cut that holds onto any flavour and cooks quickly. Let us know how you like to cook Girello. https://www.glentorriepastures.com//girello-quick-lean-and

12.01.2022 Needing some inspiration for that last pack of mince? Why not try this and see if it becomes a family favourite. Add in some Chilli for that extra boost of warmth. https://www.glentorriepastures.com/re/giant-smoky-meatballs

11.01.2022 Who doesnt love CHILLI! (me actually but my other half loves it!!!) https://www.australianbeef.com.au//beef-chilli-con-carne-/ This recipe is simple and I just add some fresh chilli after Ive taken my serve out, and use a simple pasta sauce with capsicums, or some diced tin Tomato and Tomato paste. The Sweet Potato makes it a good meal that is lower carbs than pasta or rice.

10.01.2022 Can’t wait for this one !! While we always try and make our foot print small and our farming as sustainable and regenerative as possible, the connections through SeedLab Tasmania to the right people and the right information has been invaluable. They always bring something new and relevant to the sessions.

07.01.2022 I just had to chuckle at this recipe post I came across when looking in to new cuts, warning you not to cook beef short ribs - as you will only want to buy them again! The Jacobs ladder beef ribs is a different take on our American style ribs and this beauty makes it look delicious. Give me a thumbs up if you think we should give this one a go https://www.conorbofin.com//wealth-warning-do-not-cook-be/ #glentorriepastures #beefbox #Ribs #Pasturerasiedbeef
