22.01.2022 Year 8 are going to the Zoo! After a difficult year of online learning and social isolation, the Year 8 Welbeing Team have organised a fun day out for students to reconnect with their peers and get out and about in the community. Students will be travelling by bus to Taronga Zoo on Tuesday 1st of December. The cost of $30 covers zoo entry and bus fees. As this is a very popular date for school's we are asking for a very quick turnaround regarding payment to secure our bookin...g for all year 8 students. Payments will be accepted until 16/11/2020 (next Monday). Please contact Miss Mac or the front office with any questions or concerns.
21.01.2022 The Support Unit was unable to run their bake sale this year due to COVID. We still ran the raffle. The House Captains sold tickets at recess and lunch. We always appreciate the support from the Glenwood community, but even more so this year as we cannot run our bake sale which is where we usually raise most of our funds. We drew our raffle today at recess and we had 21 prizes to give out. The top 4 were Mrs Avellino, Hamish, Ms Usher and Ella. The Support Unit and Frankie... would love to thank our community and House Captains, for helping us to raise funds. We are deeply grateful and hope that next year there will be no COVID restrictions so we will be able to run our bake sale. We also would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the Brannen Family for their support of our Autism Awareness day, the bake sale as well as the raffle. Since we started our fundraising in 2014, the Brannen family have donated the major prize every year, as well as buying tickets and baking cakes. Joshua was in our Support Unit and graduated in 2016. Michael, Tania and Makayla have been so appreciative of the education and support and what Joshua was able to achieve while he was with us, that they said they would continue to be the major prize donor until Makayla graduated year 12, which happened this year. We are going to miss this beautiful family. They are always saying thank you to us, but we would like to say a big thank you to them, for supporting us, not only with the raffle but in their wonderful approach to a collaborative partnership with us when making decisions for Joshua. This is really a great demonstration about quality partnership with the school and family. #autismawareness #educationalsupportdog #dogsofdoe
