03.01.2022 Hobarts First Global Care Fundraiser. Weather forecast for Saturday 3rd November 2018 Snow falling to 600m, hail, 90% chance of heavy rain with thunderstorms, winds up to 100kms an hour. Woke up Saturday morning as the weather man was right for once. This Bbq had so much against it, people had spoken negative words over it and we found out the shop next to where we were going was having a Bbq as well. But we decided to pack up the cars in pouring rain and then a group that ...were at our house helping us pack, gathered together in the lounge room and we prayed against the storm, rain, wind and hail. We asked God in his will that he could take this all away so that we could have this Bbq to glorify his name and promote Global Care in Hobart. We went to the site which was at Supercheap in Glenorchy and the rain stopped, we set up the Gazebo and everything we needed and started cooking and guess what NO rain. Throughout the day we could see rain all around us and at times we had a few gushes of wind and light showers but not enough to deter the customers away. For our first Fundraiser we came in with a profit, not as much as we wanted but it was more then we had before we started. We give all praises and glory to God because he kept the weather away from us and showed us that if we believe in Him, he will move mountains for us. This Bbq wouldn’t of happened if we didn’t have the support of Kevin and Sharon Benson our Pastors of Embassy church and also the church congregation for their donations and their time to coming down to help at the Bbq. Our church only consist of around 50-60 people and they got behind us 100%. Also we would like to give thanks to Peter and his staff from Head office on the main land for their generous donations of items to support Global care in Hobart. May the Lord my God, the God of hope and peace guide and direct me and enlighten me to what his will is to reach the community of Hobart and to where he wants the Global Care to head in Tasmania. May His name be glorified through it
