23.01.2022 Only 50 days away from our dispersal sale on the 18 August. Presently we are getting the sheep ready for the big day. The best of the best will be sold individually and the others will be sold in small groups. John Settree from Landmark will handle the auction and suggested the use of two hammers for some of the groups; meaning the first and second highest bidders can share the sheep if the highest bidder does not want all the sheep in the group. AuctionsPlus will also take bids on the day.

10.01.2022 Global to continue! After a short break from the Dorper industry, we decided to continue breeding quality rams for both stud and commercial farmers. After our sale in August 2017, we were left with the original embryo ewes (from 2009 and 2011) that our stud was built on. They were not made available for sale for sentimental reasons. We also had semen from Man of War, Ponting and Kepler. We were fortunate enough to buy back Kuiper from Tuckeroo Stud. These proven genetics,... backed by the extremely good feedback we received from our clients from the past and at the dispersal sale, we decided to carry on with our Dorpers. Our focus however will move away from showing animals to breeding animals that is fertile, of average or normal size, easy lambing, and maximum weight gain over the first 4 to 5 months. In other words, we are not interested in late maturing animals. Like in the past, good conformation, strong heads and level top lines, stays the hallmark of Global Dorpers. The new adventure will, unfortunately, has to operate without Leons personal expertise. However we anticipate and he is happy to give input on a regular bases. We are very excited and reassured by the fact that our first lot of lambs (basically from the paddock and in the current dry conditions) reached $180 per head at the sale yards. This is what we are looking for not only for ourselves, but also for clients buying our rams. Kenoes and Cecile van Lill
