25.01.2022 CONTROVERSY REIGNS: A brilliant April Fools or simply just a bad joke? The CFA (Country Fire Authority) has stirred up a storm this morning by posting this effort on their Facebook page.... Comments have flown in with many praising the effort, many flipping a lid and attacking the CFA / Australia / Law Makers and many more telling those "going off" to lighten up, enjoy the prank and relax. Some people admit that they were fooled, others (after reading through many of the comments,) admit they have removed their posts for being embarrassed or caught out by the prank. Are the people going off about this post well with in their rights? Should the CFA have considered this a little more before posting? Or, is this truly a fantastic April Fool effort trying to inject a little humour and the negative comments are simply a "sign of the times"?? No doubt a discussion that could carry on for some time, especiallyconsidering that in less than two hours of being placed on their Facebook page the post has in access of: 4060 - Comments 7.7k - Likes & Reactions 6920 - Shares

23.01.2022 A great video of the Skycrane at work. A bit blurry due to distance of shot, but a great insight in to filling operations at sea which not too many of us will get a chance to see. https://www.facebook.com/wyerivercfa/videos/453764808143431/

23.01.2022 The study behind this news article would make for an interesting read: http://www.abc.net.au//firies-working-culture-save/7015146

21.01.2022 Appears that the 2015/16 season is closer to being upon us. NSW has already begun to bring in the heavy hitters with this large air tanker.

21.01.2022 Something to read in your spare time: An interesting read, with some great looking photos of design concepts. http://www.theguardian.com//bushfire-proof-houses-black-sa

20.01.2022 News clips and photos continue to come out of Western Australia today....... The devastating bushfire that went through the town historically significant town of Yarloop as well as the surrounding areas south west of Perth. With large scale losses of houses, wildlife and vegetation these images are already becoming a far too familiar site of the Australian landscape this summer.... Our hearts go out to all those affected and to the firefighters on the ground. Please stay safe out there. https://www.facebook.com/abcnews.au/videos/10154692375159988/

20.01.2022 Although posted by the Dubai Civil Defence back in January this year, a shorter form of this video is once again doing the rounds and causing quite a stir among those sharing their comments and opinions. What are your views on the video in general as well as the idea of using such technology to aid and assist with firefighting in difficult to manage or reach locations? Is the video a good gimmick and tourism/media time grab for Dubai or does the concept have merit considerin...g the delays and difficulties that can be faced by emergency services in regards to traffic, short supply of water and general geographical issues? https://youtu.be/E5Rt-NkxKJc

20.01.2022 The things you can see on a fire ground... Just a little feel good story in an otherwise unfortunate circumstance: https://www.thedodo.com/donkey-befriends-firefighters-12930

18.01.2022 Taken during the Pinery fire in South Australia on 25th November 2015, this video gives viewers a shocking yet insightful view in to what you can face when met by an extremely fast moving wall of flame in a bush fire environment. This is some of the most convincing evidence as to why you should never try to leave your homes or try to evacuate during a bush fire, the chances of survival are low and the chances of outrunning the fire are impossible. The best option is to leave ...early on bad weather days, before the fire activity begins. This footage became public yesterday on 7 News Adelaide. #GlobalFirefighter #VolunteerFirefighter #Firefighter #VolunteerFirefighting #Firefighting #Fire #Bushfire

17.01.2022 Here is some fantastic slow motion video courtesy of the crew at Discovery News highlighting the affect water can have on heated oils & fats. You should never use water to try and extinguish a fat fire in your home or business. The effects can be extremely devastating and quickly turn a smaller incident to a much larger one. Not to mention the potential for extreme injury that you can cause to yourself or others in the process.... https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryNews/videos/10153057529508387/

16.01.2022 Scary yet fascinating photo taken of the Western Australia fires. credit: Photographer details listed in photo content.... https://www.facebook.com//a.149759021786/951556308273490/

15.01.2022 Dereel - 13th Feb 2016 The Sikorsky S61 Helitack (operated by Coulson), working in unison with the Skycrane at yet another fire in Dereel - Victoria. At its peak, there were 42 appliances and 9 aircraft operating this fire. Check out the other couple of videos we are also posting of the Erickson Skycrane and of the DC-10 VLAT.... #globalfirefighter #sikorsky #helitack #dereel #dereelfire #firefighter #bushfire #volunteerfirefighter #firefighting

14.01.2022 Today we remember the 75 lives that were lost during the Ash Wednesday bushfires in 1983. On February 16, 1983, more than 180 fires fanned by winds of up to 110... km/h caused widespread destruction across Victoria and South Australia. Years of severe drought and extreme weather combined to create one of Australia's worst fire days in a century. There were 13 CFA (Country Fire Authority) and 3 SA Country Fire Service volunteer fire-fighters who died that day. See more

13.01.2022 Dereel - 13th Feb 2016 For the second time inside a month the Erickson was operating at yet another fire in Dereel - Victoria. At its peak, there were 42 appliances and 9 aircraft operating this fire.... Check out the other couple of videos we are also posting of the Sikorsky S61 Helitack (Operated by Coulson) and of the DC-10 VLAT. #globalfirefighter #skycrane #dereel #dereelfire #firefighter #bushfire #volunteerfirefighter #firefighting

13.01.2022 Very sad news. The only good thing to come from this situation is the news that no lives have been reported lost. Its a testament to the reports of planning and organisation coming out of the area by news organisations and the residents themselves in regards to the evacuation process and their advance Fire Ready Action Planning. The townships, (as discussed openly by Emergency Management Victoria Commissioner Craig Lapsley in his ABC radio interview when directly discussing ...the Wye River community) and the residents of the area are to be commended for their forward thinking in making a devastating situation turn out better than otherwise could have been. Know that the greater Australian community is thinking of you all in this time of need. Property can be rebuilt, the environment will recover, loss of live however can not be measured. Saying this we can not emphasize enough the importance of forward thinking and planning in these situations. If you have not already got a Fire Action Readiness Plan, please take the time to work through the steps in getting one. They are extremely important and can save a lot of lives and further heartache.

12.01.2022 Spectacular and frightening footage out of Washington in the U.S this weekend showing just what can be faced with a very active fire front when the conditions allow. https://www.facebook.com/KOMONews/videos/926568584078141/

12.01.2022 Spotted: Approx 13:30hrs Skycrane spotted flying to what appears to be home from Lorne. There is currently no other major incidents in the state requiring its attendance. Hopefully this is a sign that not as many aircraft are required there anymore and is not a sign of a significant change in weather about to head their way.... There does seem to be some weather developing though and the west of the state (Hamilton/Grampians area) has had on/off lightning activity most of day without causing any pinned incidents.

12.01.2022 SPOTTED: In the skies around Ballarat. Heading in the direction of Geelong & the Surf Coast (Lorne Fires). A long way from home base - Originally designated to be a part of the NSW Fire Fighting Fleet and based in Albury after her flight from Melbourne on 20th December 2015.

11.01.2022 Dereel - 13th Feb 2016 The DC-10 VLAT operating out of Avalon/Geelong at yet another fire in Dereel - Victoria. At its peak, there were 42 appliances and 9 aircraft operating this fire.... Check out the other couple of videos we are also posting of the Erickson Skycrane and of the Sikorsky S61 (Operated by Coulson). #globalfirefighter #dc10 #vlat #dereel #dereelfire #firefighter #bushfire #volunteerfirefighter #firefighting

11.01.2022 Please, if you are suffering from any level of depression or just feel like having a chat to someone - Seek out your organisations peer support program. They are trained to help. If you wish to seek outside assistance instead, there are many organisations in the community set up to assist... Seek help and a listening/guiding ear.... NEVER feel like you need to do things alone!! https://www.facebook.com/behindtheseenaustralia/videos/866411860091008/

09.01.2022 Linked: An article and discussion piece we recently read from an online publication in Canada. An insight to the future or firefighting and things to come?... Undervalued potential resources? Over stated potential? Have a read for yourselves and make up your own minds. Either way, we found it interesting, we hope you do as well. http://www.firefightingincanada.com/research/wired-up-22145

08.01.2022 Yesterday: 15th January 2016 Skycrane in operation at a fire in Dereel (near Ballarat). One of two aerial bombers used at the fire due to inaccessible terrain and ground cover. As always, the helicopters saved ground crews a lot of work.... We were still out there for 7hrs in the end, however due to the air attack, this was for mopping up activities and not having to control a moving front. Sorry for the drop in footage briefly in middle of video. I had to step off the dirt pile I was on and needed to watch what I was doing.

08.01.2022 What a very trying time and period leading up to and going through the Christmas period this year. Reports of major losses to landscapes, properties, homes, livestock and other wildlife is making this period a much more trying time for many than we would wish upon any of us. Our hearts go out to all those who have suffered any form of loss during this period. News reports are frequent in regards to the current situation down along The Great Ocean Road area of Victoria howe...ver there are similar situations that have already and are currently occurring across the whole of Australia. Our thoughts also go out to the hundreds of fellow firefighting personnel from ALL services across Australia - volunteered and staff - who have given up time over this normally festive and family season to try and assist others who are going through these tragedies. Your willingness to assist in these times of need is testament to the Australian spirit and can often be the only highlight in an otherwise dark time for many. If you do find yourself called away on a strike team or to a local call, take extra care and remember your training. Just as there are people out there needing your help when you leave, there are families and people at home who look forward to your return. STAY SAFE OUT THERE

07.01.2022 Thanks for sharing Dylan. The decal application looks great. We are glad that you like the product. We do enjoy receiving photos and posts from our customers and appreciate the kind words.

07.01.2022 An article featured by CFA District 18 on Jan 6th this year shows one of the potential negative outcomes from draughting water. This is a potential issue for all firefighters across the country and should be used as a reinforcement to follow correct procedures and training. Luckily this example did not cause any life threatening scenarios from equipment blockage or failure. If this gravel and sand had of reached crew protection systems or branches things could have been a lot different. STAY SAFE out there, remember your training and follow correct procedures for your brigades and organisations.

05.01.2022 A wonderfully completed tribute video. Very well thought out. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We Will Remember Them..... Lest we forget

05.01.2022 More spectacular footage from the U.S. This time a well involved structure fire. The calmness of the construction worker is to be commended. The efforts of firefighters. (The gestures in particular of the fire fighter on the ladder truck shows just how frantic the situation is becoming) A combination of timing and placement. You just never know how a situation will unfold. Sometimes a little luck and fortunate timing is all that stands between you and a totally different ...outcome. https://www.facebook.com/foxandfriends/videos/606789599408640/?fref=nf

03.01.2022 Some very lucky Victorian firefighters and other motorists in the Gippsland area earlier this morning when a fire truck rolled on its side while attempting to attend an incident to which they had been paged. Everyone involved in the incident whether on the fire truck or in other vehicles at the location were lucky to escape with minor or no injuries at all. This is however a great reminder to be vigilant, to take extra care at all times and always wear seat belts when travell...ing in appliances regardless of the circumstances. http://www.9news.com.au//fire-truck-rolls-in-vic-hits-moto

03.01.2022 Global Firefighter would like to show its support for the #zerotolerance campaign again violence to all Emergency Services personnel whether they are Firefighters, Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Police, SES - no matter if they are paid and/or volunteer. Whether we are paid or volunteer, an emergency situation is effectively our workplace. There is NO EXCUSE for violence against others in the general community let alone violent acts against emergency services personnel who are ...there to assist people in times of need. Show your support for this worthy campaign. #globalfirefighter

01.01.2022 Tasmania: Quick video showing just how remote and difficult the current fires down in Tasmania are too reach and will be to try and extinguish. https://www.facebook.com/510433652440037/videos/586399121510156/

01.01.2022 No borders, no boundaries when it comes to the firefighting brotherhood and camaraderie. Everyone who is out on the ground be sure to stay safe. https://www.facebook.com/nswrfs/posts/10153732933035552:0

01.01.2022 Our thoughts are with those in Western Australia during this tragic period. We hope that the fire and emergency services find a way to get on top of this event before more unfortunate loses occur. Take care out there.
