22.01.2022 South Australia, you are doing a fantastic job practising good hygiene and social distancing, with the number of new COVID-19 cases decreasing across the state.... We strongly recommend continuing to minimise contact with people outside of your family and remember to keep 1.5 metres from others if you must leave your house. There are four main reasons why you can leave your home including: 1 shopping for essentials 2 accessing medical care 3 exercising 4 travelling to and from work or education If you have anyone in your family or community that is more at risk, including older people and those with medical conditions or a weakened immune system, then you can help by dropping off groceries or collecting medications for them so they dont have to leave the house. Keep up the fantastic work South Australia and stop the spread! Learn more about social distancing: https://bit.ly/2y0wxka

12.01.2022 COVID-19, Statement on Delivery of First Aid Training

11.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) has officially been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). What does this mean for South Australians? The formal p...andemic declaration doesnt mean you should be alarmed or stockpile. It doesnt mean the virus has become more infectious or more deadly, or that your personal risk of getting the disease is any greater. What it does mean is that we are seeing more cases occurring in more countries. A pandemic can be managed and minimised if we all follow the heath advice we are given and look out for each other. We can all play a part in stopping the spread of infections: Stay home from work and school if you are unwell (e.g. dont go shopping or use public transport until you are well). Avoid contact with others if you are sick (particularly vulnerable people such as older persons and people with chronic medical conditions). If others are sick, keep your distance from them as much as possible (at least 1.5 metres), avoid close contact such as shaking hands, hugging, kissing. Wash hands regularly, particularly after going to the toilet, blowing your nose or handling used tissues. Cover coughs and sneezes with a clean tissue or your elbow. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, or handling food, until you have washed your hands. Wipe down frequently touched surfaces. (Source : SA Health)

11.01.2022 An update has been made to restrictions in Residential Aged Care Facilities in South Australia. . The Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No ...6) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 7) (COVID-19) Direction 2020. This new Direction comes into effect at 0001 hrs on Friday 14 August 2020. . You cannot enter a facility if: You have undertaken a covid-19 test and are awaiting the test results; You have arrived from or have been in VIC/NSW/ACT within the last 14 days; You have been a known contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19; You have a temperature higher than 38 degrees Celsius, fever, chills or symptoms of acute respiratory infection in the preceding 72 hours; and/or You have not been vaccinated against 2020 seasonal influenza (unless you have an approved medical reason or a child aged 6 months or less). Residents of facilities will need to be isolated following a COVID-19 test until the result of their test is known. . Operators of Residential Aged Care Facilities will be required to submit a COVID-19 Infection Control Plan relating to all communal areas by 27 August, 2020. This will then need to be approved by the Department for Health and Wellbeing (SA) . The Direction requires changes to the requirements of people providing care at facilities (whether as an employee or contractor): A personal care worker cannot provide personal care at one care facility within 14 days of providing personal care at a different facility; A person providing nursing, medical, allied health or personal care services to residents must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if they are within 1.5 metres from the resident, whilst providing care; All people providing care or nursing care to residents must complete COVID-19 Infection Control Training determined by the Department for Health and Wellbeing (SA) before entering/remaining on premises. Records of this training must be provided to an authorised officer on request; and Employees, contractors and volunteers must notify the care facility of any additional places of employment, and if they become aware of a COVID-19 case at another of their places of employment. . All existing directions, frequently asked questions and other information can be found here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/emergency-declarations .
